Which answers your question?
Hi. This area of the wiki is meant to fill you in on things related to making new articles. Our Tutorial covers editing these pages, but where do you start?
Right here. This page covers inspiration for games, links to categories of important pages, and a lot more. First up is inspiration.
InspirationEditAs seen on the right, many of us derive our inspiration from real life video games. Who would have thought? Many of us here love Nintendo, and borrow the characters to suit our imagination. There are many game ideas that follow this pattern. Maybe you can, too. We've used Mario as the hero and the villain, Peach the heroine and the damsel in distress, and Bowser the villain and the anti-hero. We use many enemies, like Dry Bones and Shy Guys as enemies, and anti-heroes as well. Some will take the playing style of certain, well-loved games and use them as the basis of a new game. RPG's, platformers, 1st-person shooters, racing, action, adventure, puzzle and MORE genres! We use Pokemon to equip our heroes with. And equip them with arm cannons and a vacumous appetite. Have them leading Pikmen and racing in rockets. DOING BARREL ROLLS! We borrow the locations, the names, the characters, the enemies, the events, and liekly everything else. If not, some of us review the games to find out what was good and may be added to a game to make it better, or what is awful and should be removed. And why not take a look at some of the reviewed games? (below)
Beyond game reviews, we also thought is was best to have a short description of well-known and well-loved series linked with a brief list of things that you can and can't do with the series. The description informs people of the playing style and other things, while the list keeps your game ideas believable. We marked such articles Inspirational Series, and you can view them through the link. We also categorize our articles based on what console they are for. Wii games, DS games, even invented consoles like the GameCom and the V.T. Volcano. Don't forget to do the same with yours.
If you feel that you're good to go, then here's a quick way to get started.
