Mortal Kombat Reborn: Invasion is the third game in the Mortal Kombat Reborn franchise of spin-off games, and the final act of the Outworld Saga beginning with Mortal Kombat Reborn: The Journey Begins and continuing with Mortal Kombat Reborn: Outworld, taking elements from "Mortal Kombat 3", "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3", and "Mortal Kombat Trilogy", showing Shao Kahn as he forcibly invades Earthrealm as part of his plan to gain it...

Story[]

The tournament in Outworld had been part of a much larger plot, larger than Raiden had anticipated. Though Shao Kahn was defeated, the Netherrealm sorcerer Quan Chi had entered Earthrealm after he was defeated, resurrecting Queen Sindel, but placing her soul and mind under the control of Shao Kahn... with this, he had undone the wards Sindel had placed with her sacrifice to prevent Kahn from entering Earthrealm and taking it.

Soon, the Earthrealm warriors would return home, knowing that Kahn would be coming... they had to prepare, each in their own way, knowing soon, Kahn would step forward, reclaiming his Queen and being able to FINALLY take Earthrealm by force, even if it meant breaking the rules set forth by the Elder Gods themselves. Raiden knew that they might face Armageddon, but he knew it would be up to mortals to defend Earthrealm. The final battle has begun... Let Mortal Kombat begin anew!

Gameplay[]

Mortal Kombat Reborn: Invasion plays just like its prequels do, using the same gameplay mechanics, with each character having a health bar as well as a Super Meter for Enhanced Special Attacks, Breakers, and Super Moves and the Aggressor Meter for Aggressor Mode, which gives characters a unique character trait boost somehow. Like in many Mortal Kombat sequels, some characters have new special attacks and Fatalities, while some will also have new Aggressor Modes.

Liu Kang had felt like a fool... and felt anger at what Shao Kahn had done. He took the lives of his brothers at the Wu Shi Academy, endangered his grandfather, all to lure the Earthrealm warriors into Outworld to try to kill them AND as part of another plan to revive his lost queen Sindel.

Liu knew that Kahn would come. But once he did, he would be ready. Kahn's extermination squads, sent to kill any threats to the Emperor's growing occupation, came to Wu Shi Academy, with Liu Kang and Kung Lao fighting them off. Liu and Kung knew that they were among the more dangerous threats to Kahn's occupation... now, they would need a plan of action.

Special Attacks

High Fireball - Focusing his inner chi, Liu Kang fires a blast of fire outward.

Low Fireball - Similar to the High Fireball, but Liu Kang aims down at his opponent's legs rather than their torso.

Flying Dragon Kick - A technique passed onto Liu by Master Bo' Rai Cho, he flies forward, with his leg extended to deliver a powerful kick.

Bicycle Kick - Liu Kang takes to the air, kicking rapidly with his feet at his opponent's head.

Dragon's Tail - Flipping forward, Liu Kang delivers a fiery kick to hit the enemy with.

Parry - Focusing flame around his hands, Liu Kang blocks almost any attack, then counterattacks.

Fire Kick - Liu Kang does a quick roundhouse kick with fire around his foot.

Fire Bomb - Liu Kang focuses his energy into his hands and throws a fireball downward from the air which explodes at the enemy.

Burning Upper - Similar to Johnny's Johnny Uppercut, Liu Kang focuses fire around his fist, then slides forward, doing a powerful uppercut.

Aggressor Mode

Spirit of the Dragon - Liu Kang increases his movement and attack speeds for a short time, making his combos do more hits as well as allowing him to run and dodge more quickly.

Super Move

Enter the Dragon - Liu transforms into his dragon spirit, then breathes out a blast of fire, which hits the enemy hard, then sends them flying as the dragon then slaps at them away with its tail.

Fatalities

Giant Stomp: Liu Kang kicks the opponent in the gut, sending them back and on the floor. He then jumps and slams hard onto their chest with his feet, twisting as he does. This is an homage to Bruce Lee.

Focused Fireball: Liu Kang extracts what appears to be the opponent's chi and charges it with his own before firing it back at the victim, tearing them to pieces.


Raiden

Race: God

Realm of Origin: The Heavens

Family: Shao Kahn (brother, estranged), Reiko (nephew, estranged)

Raiden's worst nightmare had come true; his brother Shao Kahn had begun to merge Earthrealm with Outworld. In the process, Raiden was banished from the growing merger, knowing that he couldn't maintain his deity status in the bounds of the merging of the realms, so he beseeched the Elder Gods for help.

Hearing his pleas for help but unable to act until Shao Kahn himself came through to Earthrealm, Jehovah, the leader of the Elder Gods, had told Raiden the only way he could fight alongside his beloved mortals would be to become mortal, as he had in the past. Raiden chose to do so, knowing he very well risked his place in the pantheon of gods AND giving up his own immortality in the process...

Special Attacks

Teleport - At will, Raiden vanishes and reappears behind his opponent.

Lightning - Raiden sends a bolt of lightning flying at his opponent.

Electric Fly - Raiden flies at his opponent and pushes them against the wall.

Shocker - Raiden grabs his opponent and electrocutes them.

Vicinity Blast - Raiden performs a closer range version of his lightning, but with more knockback and a wind effect to it, which can be charged up.

Reverse Lightning - Raiden sends a bolt of lightning in the other direction hitting an opponent from behind.

Electric Slide - Raiden slides across the floor and hits his opponent with his shoulder, electrocuting them in the process.

Thunder Blast - Raiden holds his hands out and lets out a powerful boom similar to the sound of thunder itself.

Aggressor Mode

God of Thunder - Raiden gains super armor, allowing him to take 2 hits before he is stunned in the middle of a combo, plus his normal attacks can electrocute his opponent upon contact.

Super Move

Storm Clouds - Raiden grabs his opponent, shooting into the sky with them as he channels a massive amount of thunder and lightning, which strikes the opponent rapidly, before one massive thunderbolt slams them back to the Earth below.

Fatalities

Transplant: Raiden teleports behind the opponent and rips out the brain and heart from the torso. He then charges them and puts them back into place. The head begins to glow, and blows up, Then the torso explodes shortly afterwards.

Electrocution II: Raiden lodges his hands into his opponent's chest, lifts them over his head, and sends surges of electricity into their body making them explode.

Hidden character, unlockable in the Krypt.


Johnny Cage

Race: Human

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Los Angeles, California, United States (Has US citizenship)

Family: Robert Carlton (Father), Rose Carlton (Mother), Rebecca Carlton (Sister)

After Outworld, Johnny hoped that he'd be able to relax for a while. Unfortunately, when he was told Shao Kahn was beginning to merge Earthrealm, he knew that that was wrong. It also got worse when he was attacked by Motaro, the leader of Shao Kahn's extermination squads, attempting to kill Earthrealm's warriors.

Barely getting away alive, Johnny soon was met by Nightwolf, informing him he was one of the chosen warriors destined to protect Earthrealm from Outworld's invasion. "Here we go again!" said Johnny in annoyance. "But hey, at least I'll have an idea for a new movie!"

Special Attacks

High Force Orb - Johnny flings his arm up, sending out a bolt of green chi at a high curved angle.

Low Force Orb - Like the High Force Orb, Johnny hurls this Force Orb at a lower angle.

Shadow Kick - Cage slides across the floor with one foot at a steady speed and connects with a kick to the torso of his opponent with the other one, leaving a trail of green shadows as he does it.

Nut Punch - One of Cage's most memorable moves where he does a split and punches the opponent in the groin.

Johnny Uppercut - Cage would leap into the air and deliver an uppercut with his elbow which launched his foe into the air, leaving a green trail.

Flip Kick - Cage does a somersault kick that launches his foe into the air, leaving a green trail.

Shadow Rush - Cage does a sliding attack with his elbow sticking out to hit the enemy.

Split Dodge - Johnny does the splits to dodge overhead attacks.

Arc Kick - Johnny does a forward flip kick, his shadow energy flowing around him as he hits them down.

Aggressor Mode

Caged - Cage awakens his full chi, making his dashes have a green shadow before him, allowing him to pass through his opponent, projectiles and such, while keeping in close to his opponent. This also will increase the speed and range of his dashes.

Super Move

World's Most Wanted - Cage leaps at his opponent with a Shadow Kick, stunning them as he leaps forward, hitting them with an elbow, some punches, followed up by a knee to the stomach, then his leaping up and slamming his elbow into their back, before he winds up and hits them with an uppercut to send them rolling onto their stomach.

Fatalities

Heads Up: This fatality is a combination of the Deadly Uppercut and the Torso Rip fatalities. Cage uppercuts his opponent's head off, then he finishes by ripping off their torso and throwing it to the ground as the head bounces up. He then catches the head and holds it up.

Super Split Punch: Cage performs his groin strike move, only takes it a step further by continuing to assault his opponent's genitals with a series of punches until with one final blow, he punches the enemy in half.


Sonya Blade

Race: Human

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Dallas, Texas, United States (has US citizenship)

Fighting Style: Special Forces training including Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo, and Judo

Family: Major Herman Blade (father, missing, considered deceased), Erica Blade (mother), Captain Daniel Blade (brother)

After disappearing into Outworld, Sonya was held prisoner by Shao Kahn's forces. But she was soon saved by Johnny and Jax, and taken back to Earthrealm. Once there, she and Jax tried to convince their superiors of Shao Kahn's impending invasion, however, without proof, their warnings fell on deaf ears.

Once the invasion began, Sonya and Jax had to muster as much technology and gear they could to help their fellow Earthrealm warriors prepare for stopping Kahn and preventing him from taking control of Earthrealm. Sonya knew that the odds seemed against them, but this was war!

Special Attacks

Energy Ring Blast - Clanging her wrists together, she sends out ring-like projectiles that would hit the opponent.

Leg Grab - Sonya does a handstand and grabs her opponent with her feet, then slams them to the ground.

Face Planter - Sonya takes off into the air and flies across the screen with a punch to anyone who is in the air.

Rising Bicycle Kick - Sonya rises into the air with a series of kicks to the opponent.

Cartwheel Kick - Sonya performs a cartwheel at her opponent, kicking them on impact.

Arc Kick - Sonya performs a kick that arcs through the air, enabling her to hit the opponent in the air or on the ground.

Deadly Kiss - Sonya blows a kiss that stuns the opponent by irritating their eyes.

Air Leg Throw - Using her legs, Sonya tosses the opponent to the ground from the air.

Knee Buster - Sonya does a rising knee to pop her opponent up.

Satellite Blast - Sonya calls in an air strike with a laser beam from a space-bound satellite.

Aggressor Mode

Special Forces - Periodically, Sonya forms energy rings around herself, being flown out when she attacks.

Super Move

SF Beat Down: Sonya initiates her X-ray Move with a series of punches and kicks (two of each), which if any one (all, in some cases) of them lands, she then performs a leg grab on the opponent's neck, snaps it, then she uses the inverted bicycle kick and slams him/her on the ground head first, breaking their skull and neck.

Fatalities

Crush Kiss: Another variation of this fatality was found in Mortal Kombat 3 in which she would once again blow a kiss and an amazing purple, glowing orb would be hurled towards an opponent, thus crushing the opponent and leaving behind a pile of blood and bones.

Kut-Throat: Sonya gets a garrote wire, puts it at her opponent's throat and flips over their head. She then slowly slices through their neck, and their head falls off.


Jackson "Jax" Briggs

Race: Human

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Washington, D.C. (has US citizenship)

Fighting Style: Special Forces training, Wrestling, Judo, Krav Maga

Family: Sarah Briggs (grandmother, deceased), Major-General Andrew Briggs (father), Carlita Briggs (mother)

Jax had been surprised when he had entered Outworld to save Sonya from Shao Kahn's clutches. Saving her though, and making it out ALIVE was a different situation. But successfully, they made it out. But with word Shao Kahn was going to invade, Jax and Sonya tried to tell their superiors in Washington about the invasion... to no avail.

Knowing that it would take a lot of muscle to handle the Tarkatan horde as well as whatever else that Shao Kahn would send for the invasion, Jax got himself prepared. Besides the weapons and gear what remained of the military had to offer, Jax got himself some cybernetic strength enhancers, locking them on over his arms. This was a war Jax was going to WIN.

Special Attacks

Energy Wave: Jax throws a wave of sonic energy at his opponent. Jax can also perform this while in the air.

Ground Pound: Jax punches the ground, shaking the arena.

"Gotcha!" Grab: Jax grabs his opponent and punches him multiple times. There is also an Air Gotcha Grab for aerial opponents. If it connects, he grabs them by the throat smacking them headfirst to the ground.

Multi-Slam: Jax slams his opponent multiple times in succession.

Dash Punch: Jax moves forward at incredible speed to punch his opponent.

Back Breaker: Jax grabs his opponent in mid-air and slams down to the ground, resulting in the opponent's back breaking.

Blinding Light: Jax contains energy within his hands and then releases a powerful purple flash, blinding his opponent for a short time at a short range.

Overhead Smash: Jax jumps into the air and brings his elbow down onto the opponent's head.

Power Bomb: Jax tries to grab his opponent. If he does, he leaps into the air and does a power bomb onto the opponent.

German Suplex: Jax tries to grab his opponent. If he does, he turns them around and slams them into a German suplex.

Piledriver: Jax tries to grab his opponent. If he does, he does a quick piledriver.

Giant Swing: Jax tries to grab his opponent. If he does, he does a giant swing, sending his opponent flying.

Aggressor Mode

Super Charged!: Jax focuses his chi into his arms powering up his cybernetic enhancers, increasing the damage of his grappling moves as well as increasing the range of his speed.

Super Move

Briggs Bash: Jax throws his opponent into the air, then brings them down on his knee, breaking the stomach, back and legs, and then brings them to his upper back and shoulder again, dealing damage on the higher end of the opponent's spine, heart, and ribs, causing them damage.

Fatalities

Head Stomp: Jax throws his enemy on the ground, face up. He then jumps high in the air, bringing his 300+ lbs down on the enemy's head, smashing it.

Three Points!: Jax bashes his opponent three times, burying them into the ground. After a little while, he kicks their head twice. The first one puts the opponent in a daze, and the second one launches the opponent's head off like a football.


Sub-Zero

Real Name: Kuai Liang

Race: Human/Cryomancer

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Unknown location, Lin Kuei temple in China

Fighting Style: Lin Kuei-style Ninjutsu

Family: Sub-Zero I (father, deceased), Sub-Zero II/Bi-Han (older brother, deceased, reborn as Noob Saibot)

After finding out his brother lived once more, but as a servant of darkness, Sub-Zero focused all he could on trying to aid in the defeat of Shao Kahn. He was successful in aiding Earthrealm's warriors, but once he and Smoke returned home, they were ambushed by Lin Kuei warriors, and taken before Oniro to enter the Cyber Initiative...

However, in a moment of distraction, the two managed to escape, but as they ran for their lives, Smoke was captured. Now unmasked and with no ties to the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero has been marked for death by his clan as well as Shao Kahn's extermination squads, due to his role as one of the chosen warriors destined to stop Kahn's occupation of Earthrealm.

Special Attacks

Iceball: Sub-Zero sends a blast of ice directly towards the opponent to temporarily freeze them in place for a free hit. He could also freeze opponents in midair, if timed correctly.

Slide: Sub-Zero slides across the floor, knocking the opponent off their feet. It is assumed Sub-Zero slides by freezing the soles of his feet, as shown with an ice trail under him.

Ground Ice: Sub-Zero freezes the floor and whoever steps on the circle of ice will freeze temporarily. Since it aims for the opponent's feet, it cannot be blocked.

Ice Clone: Sub-Zero creates an ice clone of himself anywhere he chooses, and anyone who touches it will freeze.

Ice Shower: Sub-Zero shoots ice straight overhead which falls back down atop his opponent. He can shoot it close, mid way, or far away to freeze the opponent.

Kori Blade: Sub-Zero uses his cryomancer powers to form his massive Kori Blade sword and slashes at his opponent.

Dive Kick: While in the air, Sub-Zero dives down in a diagonal kick. This can be done in close and far proximity.

Aggressor Mode

Cold Touch - Sub-Zero's blows can temporarily freeze the enemy, allowing him to extend the number of hits his combos can do, as well as enhancing his freezing special attacks to freeze when an opponent blocks them.

Super Move

Cold Chill: Sub-Zero forms his Kori Blade, and slashes at his opponent. If he connects, he uses his cryomancer powers, sliding toward the enemy as he forms a second Kori Blade, slashing past them rapidly, before he forms a spear with his cryomancer powers, twirling it around then drives it into his opponent's chest.

Fatalities

Overhead Ice Smash: Sub-Zero grabs the opponent and presses them over his head. After freezing the opponent, Sub-Zero breaks them into pieces with his own hands.

Freeze Kick: Sub-Zero freezes his opponent and kicks them. The opponent is smashed to pieces after the kick.


Scorpion

In Outworld, Scorpion had thought he was going to face his killer once again... but he witnessed Sub-Zero spare an opponent in the tournament Shao Kahn set up and he knew it wasn't Bi-Han. When he fought the new Sub-Zero, he learned he was Kuai Liang, the brother of Bi-Han, as well as both facing Noob Saibot, Bi-Han reborn as a being like Scorpion yet corrupted by his sins in life.

After the tournament, Scorpion returned to the Netherrealm, contemplating what he should do next. Unfortunately, he would learn about Quan Chi and Noob Saibot had been in service to the Emperor, and they had entered Earthrealm to help Kahn invade it, as well as gathering souls from the Netherrealm. Scorpion would soon escape once more, ready to fight, as well as choosing to protect Kuai Liang as atonement for killing his brother.

Special Attacks

Spear - Sending out a rope with a tipped Kunai at the end, it impales itself into the victim's chest, allowing Scorpion to pull him or her through the air towards him for a free hit, as well as cause a small bit of damage. This move often follows the words, "GET OVER HERE!" or "COME HERE!"

Hellfire Punch - Teleporting behind his opponent, he connects with a punch, then uppercuts his opponent.

Leg Takedown - Scorpion trips his opponent with a leg scissor takedown.

Air Throw - Scorpion throws his opponent to the ground while in the air.

Hellfire Backflip Kick - Scorpion performs a backflip kick followed by a trail of fire.

Hellfire - Scorpion raises his hands up and causes hellfire to burn under his opponent's feet.

Inner Flames - Scorpion creates flames of hellfire all around his body that damages anyone who comes into direct contact with him, even during a special move.

Burning Dive Kick - In the air, Scorpion does a diving kick, flames around himself as he comes down.

Hell Ball - Scorpion takes his own demonic energies into a ball and hurls it at his opponent.

Demon Fire - Slamming his closed fist onto the ground, Scorpion sends out a bouncing fireball of hell fire.

Burning Slash - Scorpion uses his sword to slash at his opponent, hellfire wrapped aorund it.

Aggressor Mode

Shroud of Flames - Scorpion is encased in an aura of flames from the Netherrealm, which does a moderate amount of damage when activated. While the trait is active, a small amount of damage is done to the opponent if Scorpion is in close proximity to him/her.

Super Move

Welcome to the Netherrealm - Scorpion teleports behind his opponent and kicks him/her in the back, teleporting both him and the opponent to the Netherrealm. He then raises two walls from the ground and launches two spears into the opponent and lights him/her in hell fire. Dragging his opponent by his spears, Scorpion then slams him/her into both walls. Finally, he leaps into the air and slams the opponent into the ground, teleporting them both back to the original arena.

Fatalities

Toasty!: Scorpion takes off his mask, revealing a skull face, and breathes fire at his opponent, burning them alive.

Split Decision: Scorpion unsheathes his sword and slices his opponent's torso. He then cuts his opponent's throat and delivers a powerful kick which sends their torso and head off their body. As the head comes falling down, he slices it vertically in half.


Kung Lao

Race: Human

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Houan region, China (has citizenship in China)

Fighting Style: Shaolin Fist, Wu Shu

Family: Wing Lao (father, deceased), Chan Lao (mother, deceased), Lee Kang (uncle, deceased), Lin Kang (aunt, deceased), Liu Kang (cousin), Chow Kang (cousin, deceased), Xiba Kang (grandfather), The Great Kung Lao (direct ancestor, deceased)

The tournament in Outworld was meant to help Kung Lao find his center. He had done so, but he also had faced deadly kombat when he would battle Kintaro, Shao Kahn's champion of the arena AND a relative to Goro. In the end, Kung Lao killed Kintaro, and felt himself realizing how he had much he could do.... outside of kombat.

When he returned home, he spoke to his grandfather in the hope to strengthen the bonds between the Temple of the Order of Light and the White Lotus Society. He formally had been asked to be brought into the White Lotus, but things would not go so smoothly once Shao Kahn's extermination squads arrived to kill them. As a chosen warrior, Kung Lao must use his skills to help end Shao Kahn's reign of terror.

Special Attacks

Wind Teleport - Kung Lao goes to the ground and reappears behind his opponent.

Hat Toss - Kung Lao hurls his razor-rimmed hat at the opponent.

Ground Hat - Kung Lao throws his hat on the ground, causing it to spin towards the opponent.

Whirlwind Kick - Kung Lao flies towards his opponent spinning like a tornado, doing multiple kicks that knocks them down.

Whirlwind Spin - Spinning like a tornado, Kung Lao knocks his opponent into the air.

Bullet Kick - Kung Lao dives down from the air and attacks his opponent with a solid kick.

Hat Slash - Kung Lao takes his hat off, spins quickly, then slashes at his opponent.

Hat Uppercut - Kung Lao takes his hat off, then slashes at an angle to launch his opponent in the air.

Aggressor Mode

Eye of the Tiger - Kung Lao gradually regains his health bar and super meter as he attacks and advances on his opponent, as well as decreasing the recovery of all his moves.

Super Move

Hat Trick - Taking his hat off, Kung Lao throws it, which grazes past his opponent, allowing him to run forward, catching it in his hand, then slashes them with it, before he then sweeps them off their feet with a sweep kick, then twirls and jams his hat into his opponent before he slams his foot onto them and catches his hat, placing it on his head.

Fatalities

Hat Toss Impale: Kung Lao throws his hat at the opponent, which gets lodged in their head. He then stomps on the opponent's stomach to retrieve his hat.

Mid-Air Slice: Kung Lao kicks the opponent into the air and then amputates his opponent's limbs and head with his hat.


Kano

Thought to be dead after Sonya chased him to the Crimson Forest in Cambodia, Kano had actually been able to enter Outworld thanks to his past alliance with Shang Tsung in the Mortal Kombat tournament. While in Outworld, Kano helped capture Sonya, as well as preparing Baraka and the Tarkatan hordes to use weaponry from Earth thanks to his fellow Black Dragon being able to pass through the portal he had found.

Soon, he remained behind as Kahn was defeated by Liu Kang, readying the Black Dragon to prepare for the invasion. He knew he would be paid handsomely for this, as well as having one offering he had so wanted to gain; Australia itself. Now working for the big league, Kano was ready to make his mark!

Special Attacks

Kano Ball - Kano curls into a ball and flies at his opponent.

Knife Throw - Kano throws a pair of knives at his opponent.

Knife Swipe - Kano slashes his opponents with his knife in an upward swing.

Choke - Kano would grab his opponent and lift them in the air by the throat and proceed to stab them in the chest.

Knife Spin - Kano spins both of his knives around his body, knocking the opponent up into the air if it connects.

Eye Laser - Kano shoots a laser from his eye at the opponent.

Up Kano Ball - Kano aims his Kano Ball upwards to an aerial opponent

Kano Pinball - After rolling into a ball, Kano flying all over the screen in random directions.

Down Kano Ball - Kano performs his Kano Ball from the air to the ground, hitting the opponent if on his way.

Air Throw - While in the air, Kano uses his legs to push the opponent to the ground.

Aggressor Mode

Full Charge - Kano's laser eye begins to glow, increasing his damage overall, including chip damage while active.

Super Move

Cold-Blooded Killer - Kano takes his knives, slashing at his opponent rapidly, before he impales them in the stomach, then takes a gun from his back pocket and shoots them a few times.

Fatalities

Heartbreak: A variation of his signature fatality, Kano turns the opponent around and punches the heart out through his victim's back, holding it so they can see it. He then crushes the heart in his hands, pulls it back out and hoists it in the air while blood still pumps out.

Eat Your Heart Out: Another variation of his signature fatality, Kano rips the heart out of his opponent's chest, then proceeds to rip off their head. He jams the opponent's head into the hole in their chest and kicks them away.


Nightwolf

Race: Human

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Apache reservation, outside of Tempe, Arizona (has US citizenship)

Fighting Style: Apache-style martial arts

Family: Wildrun (father), Summer Clouds (mother)

After the first Mortal Kombat tournament a year ago, Nightwolf had returned home to his reservation, consulting with his ancestors' souls after their freedom from Shang Tsung's grasp. As he spoke with them, he saw images of Outworld, of the former ruler, Onaga the Dragon King, Shao Kahn's rise to power, and his rule.

But what he also witnessed was that Shao Kahn had set plans into motion that had begun thousand of years ago. He knew that Kahn was going to revive Queen Sindel, and he had to prepare. He used his magics to protect his land, and then began to gather his thoughts from his ancestors; to find the chosen warriors meant to stop Kahn and gather them.

Special Attacks

Axe Swing: Nightwolf uppercuts his opponent with a tomahawk.

Reflect: Nightwolf glows green and redirects projectile moves back at his opponent.

Arrow Shot: Creating a mystical bow, Nightwolf shoots an arrow at his opponent. I

Shoulder: Nightwolf glows green and then quickly dashes forward and knocks his opponent backwards.

Lightning: Nightwolf raises his arm and summons a bolt of lightning that knocks his opponent off his feet.

Choke: Nightwolf grabs his opponent by the neck and raises them in the air before knocking them away with his Shoulder.

Thunder Drop: Coming down from mid-air, Nightwolf holds out his tomahawks with thunder around the blades as he slams the enemy down.

Spiral Axe: Nightwolf spins with his tomahawks out and strikes the enemy multiple times leading to a knockdown.

Aggressor Move

Call of the Wolf: Nightwolf summons his ancestral power, calling his wolf familiar Kiva, who attacks as he attacks, responding to his actions as well as being able to help Nightwolf close.

Super Move

Wolf Fang: Nightwolf throws his tomahawks at his opponent. When they connect, he transforms into a wolf with Kiva, his wolf familiar, appearing as the two run forward, hitting the enemy from all sides before slamming into him / her from the front and the back.

Fatalities

Axe, Meet Head: Nightwolf throws a tomahawk at the opponent's face, killing him/her.

Lightning Axe: Nightwolf summons lightning to his axes and electrocutes his opponent to death.


Kitana

Race: Edenian

Fighting Style: Edenian self-defense, which Earthrealm warriors stylize as Ba Gua

Family: King Jerrod (father, deceased), Queen Sindel (mother), Mileena ("sister", reportedly deceased)

Kitana had been wanted for high treason against the Emperor for her actions in the Edenian Resistance as well as for killing Mileena during the Outworld tournament. But she knew she had to keep fighting after seeing that Kahn COULD be defeated. But what became most disturbing is the rumors she heard from Jade's intel; that her mother had been resurrected by Quan Chi as part of a plan of Shao Kahn's to take Earthrealm.

However, even as the Edenian Resistance suffers from the newly fortified attacks of Kahn's armies, Kitana races to Earthrealm, hoping to find her mother and inform her of the true past they share. She knows Kahn will be sending forces to try to kill or capture her, but she has to succeed... if any realm has any hope of survival.

Special Attacks

Fan Toss - Kitana throws one of her fans to her opponent.

Square Boost - Kitana leaps in the air with her back facing the opponent and uses her fans to launch and slam herself into the opponent.

Upraise - Kitana will use a windstorm to keep the opponent in the air.

Fan Swipe - Kitana swipes at her enemy with her razor sharp fan.

Pretty Kick - Kitana flies toward her opponent with multiple kicks.

Cutting Fan - Kitana spins both her fans around her, dealing damage if the opponent touches her.

Fake Out Kick - Kitana spins one way then reverses to kick the opponent in the shin.

Fan Swipe - Kitana swipes at her enemy with her razor sharp fan.

Backflip Whip - Kitana does a quick backflip and kicks the opponent up into the air.

Aggressor Mode

Fan Dance - Kitana extends her fans, making her normal attacks take on different properties as well as increasing damage in combos and dealing chip damage.

Super Move

Fan-Tastic - Kitana begins by slashing at her opponent with her fans, then she teleports behind them and lodges the fans into their skull dealing damage to it and the neck. She teleports again in front of her opponent and grabs the fans. Then she lodges them in her opponents eyes damaging them and the skull. After she does that, she pulls her fans out and uses them for a gust of wind to send them crashing to the ground.

Fatalities

Kiss of Death - Kitana focuses her chi into her lips, then kisses the opponent on the cheek, causing them pain. The victim inflates several times (vomiting blood in between) before exploding.

Fan Slice: Kitana decapitates her opponent with her fan.


Mileena

Race: Half-Edenian, Half-Tarkatan/Genetic Experiment

Fighting style: Edenian self-defense, with feral Tarkatan actions

Family: Shao Kahn ("father"), Shang Tsung (creator, deceased), Kitana ("twin sister"/genetic template)

Killed by Kitana in the Outworld tournament, Mileena's soul had been cast into the Netherrealm. When she had awoken, she was found by members of the Brotherhood of Shadow, and taken before Quan Chi. There, Quan Chi makes Mileena an offer she essentially cannot refuse; resurrection as long as she pledges her loyalty to Shinnok.

Accepting, Mileena was reborn in Outworld, claiming the rumors were false about her demise. Her loyalty to Shao Kahn now replaced by fear of Shinnok, Mileena helps her father in invading Earthrealm, all for the hope to kill her sister, as well as weaken the warriors of Earth in order to pave the way for Shinnok's return...

Special Attacks

Sai Blast: Mileena throws two sais, charged with purple energy, at her opponent. Mileena can do this in the air.

Teleport Drop: Mileena teleports and quickly hits her opponent from above with a jump kick.

Ball Roll: Mileena tucks into a ball and rolls toward her opponent knocking them off of their feet.

Leaping Neckbite: Mileena leaps onto her opponent's chest and begins eating away their face or neck. Also, if the opponent has a sai lodged in their neck before Mileena performs this move, she'll pull out the sai and stab them repeatedly.

Sai Slam: Mileena flips forward, with her sais in her hands as she drives them down at her opponent's shoulders.

Vicious Kick: Mileena does her own variation of Kitana's Pretty Kick, but finishes with a knee to the face.

Leaping Sai: Mileena jumps into the air and stabs her opponent in the shoulder with one of her sais.

Sai impale: Mileena stabs her sai into her opponent's stomach.

Splits: Mileena does a split kick that hits her opponent in the head.

Aggressor Mode

Fractured Mind: Mileena begins to run on all fours, her movement speed and dash speed increasing as well as the power of her special attacks and the differences of her normal attacks changing as well.

Super Mode

Emperor's Pride: Mileena throws her two sai into her opponent, then runs forward, grabs them, and rapidly digs into their stomach with her sai, then twirls around and kicks them hard, sending them flying.

Fatalities

Sai Stabs: Mileena pulls her Sais out and stabs her opponent to death, then proceeds to kick the opponent away.

Sai-Anara: Mileena throws a number of sais at her opponent, hitting all areas of the body. Her final throw ends up in her victim's head.

Jade

The resistance was slowly gaining ground in Outworld. Jade had led successful sorties against Outworld forces, taking back places that had been a part of Edenia before Shao Kahn took Earthrealm. However, soon, something changed; Shao Kahn's forces began to grow smaller and smaller...

What Jade would soon learn from an informant of hers in Kahn's army that he had begun plans to enter Earthrealm to claim Queen Sindel. Surprised to hear Kitana's mother had been resurrected, Jade informed her, and then together, the friends with otherts in the Resistance began to prepare to go to Earthrealm and aid her warriors against this invasion.

Special Attacks

Razor-Rang: Jade throws a razor-rang at her opponent.

Razor-Rang Up: Jade throws a razor-rang at an upward angle.

Razor-Rang Down: Jade throws a razor-rang at her opponent's shins.

Shadow Kick: Jade illuminates herself with a green force and kicks her opponent.

Shadow Flash: Jade puts a forcefield around herself which causes projectiles to go through her.

Vanishing Winds: Jade spins with a cloud of green smoke surrounding her and appears behind her opponent.

Staff Overhead: Jade jumps up and smashes the opponent with her staff.

Staff Grab: Jade grabs the opponent by the chest with her staff and slams them behind her.

Staff Sweep: Jade sweeps at her opponent's feet with her staff.

Shadow Somersault: Jade does a forward somersault kick with the green force used in her Shadow Kick and Shadow Flash.

Aggressor Mode

Jade Light: Each time Jade throws a Razor-Rang, she will throw two instead of one, as well as taking less damage from projectile-based special attacks.

Super Mode

For Edenia: Jade slams her staff into her opponent's gut, then holds them up, before she kicks her staff up, running along it with two Razor-Rangs in her hands as she leaps and slashes at the opponent, then twirls in mid-air, grabs her staff and slams the opponent back to earth with it.

Fatalities

Half Mast: Jade kicks the opponent into the air and plants her staff into the ground, after the opponent is impaled by the staff, she rips off his/her head and sticks it at the top of the staff.

Razor-Rang Flinger: Taking several Razor-Rangs, Jade throws them, slicing her opponent's head, arms, and legs off.


Baraka

Race: Tarkatan

In the Outworld tournament, Baraka was humiliated in kombat, and his rage toward the Earthrealm warriors grew more so. However, he knew that his master would have the means to be able to exact revenge for all of Outworld. When Baraka heard of Shao Kahn's plan to resurrect Queen Sindel, he was excited!

But he also know upon entering Earth that his Tarkatan hordes wouldn't know how to wield the weapons of Earth. But that's where Kano of the Black Dragon came in. He taught Baraka and his forces how to use weapons like bazookas, AK-47s and more. Though Baraka is thankful, he has been ordered by Shao Kahn to keep an eye on the Black Dragon leader, and kill him if he was to double cross the Emperor...

Special Attacks

Spark - Baraka fires a spark by scraping his blades together and aiming at his opponent.

Chop Chop - Baraka slices his opponent up vertically with his blades numerous times.

Blade Slice - Baraka performs a quick, strong swipe at the opponent with his blade.

Blade Spin - Baraka would spin like a top with his blades extended, damaging his opponent.

Blade Charge - Baraka quickly lunges at his opponent with both blades out.

Scrap Kick - Baraka releases his Tarkatan Blades and launches at his opponent with his legs.

Air Blade Spin - After a jump, Baraka spins like a top, damaging his opponent.

Air Spark - After a jump, Baraka unleashes a Spark in the air.

Blade Flip - Baraka flips forward, his blades extended as he slashes at his opponent rapidly.

Air Jab - Baraka thrusts up into the air with his blade and if he hits his enemy, he grabs them then slams them down onto the ground.

Aggressor Mode

Bloody Blade - As Baraka does damage to his opponent, he can regain his health, as well as increasing his Super Meter.

Super Mode

Tarkatan Brutality: Baraka slashes past his opponent, and when he connects, he then slashes past them several times, then twirls and slashes with a crossing slash, sending the opponent spinning into the air.

Fatalities

Mutant Dissection: Baraka uses his blades to slices the arms, legs, and neck of his victim, then stabs the torso and rips it out, leaving the arms, head, and legs.

Precision Cutting: Baraka uses his blades, slicing at his opponent in a quick diagonal motion, which appears after if they are not cut, until their torso slides off and the rest of the body falls down in a slump.


Quan Chi

Race: Demon/Sorcerer (formerly Oni)

Quan Chi continued to serve Shao Kahn on the orders of his master, Shinnok, as part of Shinnok's goal to prepare each of the realms for his arrival. When Shao Kahn was defeated by Liu Kang, Quan Chi healed his wounds, then offered him one means to bypass the laws of the Elder Gods to keep him from his prize...

Quan Chi could easily venture into any of the realms, so he would go to Earthrealm and revive Shao Kahn's queen, Sindel, as well as removing the wards used to keep him from entering Earthrealm both by her and the Elder Gods, with the addition she would be brainwashed to be loyal to the Emperor. Quan Chi knew, as did Shinnok, once the Elder Gods got wind of Kahn's invasion, they would deal with him, and with a new ally at their side, their goals would be achieved.

Special Attacks

Skull Ball: Quan Chi fires a skull of green magical energy at his opponent.

Rising Star: Quan Chi slides and kicks his opponent from below.

Sky Drop: Quan Chi teleports high, disappearing on the game's camera, and reappears above the opponent, stomping him numerous times.

Air Throw: In the air, Quan Chi grabs his opponent and falls down with him, hitting only his enemy as Quan Chi lands on him.

Trance: Quan Chi hypnotizes his opponent with his mystical powers, causing them to fall under his control, and making the foe walk towards him, giving him an opportunity for a free hit.

Ground Burst: A move where Quan Chi points at the ground causing a light to summon from the floor, with a small knock-back. There are close, medium, and far versions of the move.

Skull Barrier: Quan Chi uses some of his supply of skulls to form a barrier around himself, taking some attacks until they break.

Teleport: Quan Chi disappears in a flash of green light, either getting away from the opponent, closer to them, or behind them.

Energy Drain: Quan Chi holds his hands out, and damages his opponent, losing a skull but regaining health because of it.

Aggressor Mode

Eternal Skull: Quan Chi forms two skulls, powering himself up and restoring his health, while causing skulls to float around him to do some of his attacks.

Super Move

Army of the Dead: Quan Chi blinds his opponent, then uses his necromancy to raise three dead beings, who then hit the opponent once each, before Quan Chi appears and slams them down hard with a powerful blast of magic.

Fatalities

Sacrifice: Quan Chi digs his hand into his opponent's chest, then pulls out their heart, taking a knife to slice it open. As the blood pours over the opponent, flames begin to engulf them, reducing them to a fleshless skeleton, then to ashes.

Judgement: Quan Chi leaps at his opponent, forming two daggers as he impales one into their throat, the other into their stomach, then kicks them into a dark purple portal to the Netherrealm, with their being grabbed by Oni from all sides, tearing them apart, while Quan Chi watches, chuckling darkly.

Noob Saibot

After facing his killer and his younger brother in Outworld, Noob Saibot had chosen to forgo his life as a mortal and accept that he had become superior in every way possible. And even if he was loyal to Quan Chi and Shinnok, he had his own agendas in mind as well...

Noob was sent along with Quan Chi and new associates Moloch and Drahmin as well as Shao Kahn's daughter Mileena to aid the Emperor in overtaking Earthrealm thanks to Quan Chi resurrecting Sindel. Seeing an opportunity, not only to help impress Shinnok, but Noob could also begin to formulate his own plans and move them forward...

Special Attacks

Ghost Ball: Noob sends out a ghostly fireball which disables the opponent's moves and blocks for free hits.

Teleport Grab: Disappearing, then reappearing behind his opponent, Noob grabs them and slams them on the ground.

Shadow Throw: Noob sends out a shadowy construct that grabs and throws his opponent into the air.

Shadow Slide: Noob sends his shadow out in a slide which trips the opponent.

Darkness: Noob Saibot vanishes and reappears at will.

Black Hole: Noob Saibot shoots a dark portal into the air which lands on the ground behind the enemy. It can also appear in front or landing right on the enemy. Should the enemy fall or be knocked into the portal, they will fall from the sky directly above Noob and receive damage from the drop.

Shadow Charge: Noob Saibot sends one of his shadow clones to tackle his foe.

Shadow Upknee: Noob Saibot launches his shadow clone in the air, which kicks the opponent away from him.

Shadow Slam: Noob Saibot sends a shadow clone behind his opponent who grabs them and suplexes them.

Aggressor Mode

We Live: Noob summons his shadow clone Saibot, who will attack on his own as he attacks.

Super Move

Darkness Lives: Noob Saibot sends out his shadow clone who grabs the opponent as Noob then rushes up to them punching and kicking them rapidly, before they both do an izuna drop onto the opponent.

Fatalities

Brutal End: Noob Saibot sends out his shadow to grab his opponent by the legs, slowly wrapping around them. Noob then walks forward and rips the opponent's torso off.

Shadow Spin: Noob lifts his arm to summon a spinning cloud identical to the one that surrounds an opponent affected by his Ghost Ball, which begin to spin around the opponent, tearing them to shreds before their body parts comre crashing down.

Ermac

Fighting Style: The juxtaposition of the many souls he is made up of

In the Outworld tournament, Ermac had befriended the blind swordsman Kenshi most surprisingly. The two had become compatriots because of their similarities as well as Kenshi sensing a strong sense of right and wrong within Ermac, even with his being a juxtaposition of thousands of souls. It was because of Kenshi that Ermac had become able to seek his own destiny.

After being freed from Shao Kahn's bonds, Ermac traversed many of the realms, gaining a strong sense of how the realms are as well as awareness of self. Eager to atone for his many sins as one of Shao Kahn's enforcers, Ermac has sought to come to Earthrealm, being aware that Shao Kahn had planned to resurrect Queen Sindel and enter Earthrealm by force. Once he was a force of evil. Now Ermac seeks to be a force for good.

Special Attacks

Force Port: Using his mystical and telekinetic powers, Ermac vanishes and reappears through green energy.

Force Lift: Using his telekinetic powers, Ermac lifts his opponent and slams them hard on the ground allowing for a combo.

Force Ball: Ermac sends a green zig-zag beam slithering at his opponent.

Airblast: Ermac uses his Force Ball in the air, firing down at his opponent at an angle.

Mystic Float: Ermac uses his telekinesis to propel himself into the air for a few seconds.

Hover Slam: After performing Mystic Float, Ermac slams his back down onto the ground, creating a small shock wave.

Dive Kick: After performing "Mystic Float", Ermac dives forward with an aerial kick.

Force Throw: Ermac telekinetically tosses his opponent across the arena behind him.

Force Push: Ermac lifts his opponent via telekinesis, floating them backwards helplessly until he strikes them with a telekinetic blast.

Aggressor Mode

Souls of the Fallen: As Ermac inflicts damage to his opponent, he gains health back, as well as the power of his special attacks being increased.

Super Move

Soul Force: Ermac glows then unleashes a flash. When he connects, he then focuses his mystical powers to take on the souls of many warriors used in his creation,e ach of them attacking the opponent before ermac takes a massive piece of earth and slams it onto their opponent.

Fatalities

Mind Over Splatter: Ermac lifts his opponent in the air with his powers, then rips off their arms and legs. He then smashes them headfirst into the ground causing their head to explode.

Pest Control: Ermac shrinks the opponent with his powers. The opponent starts running around in fear, besides that Kratos is the only one of them to start yelling at him instead if he has done so, then Ermac stomps on them. He then wipes his boot off on the ground.

Li Mei

Fighting Style: Martial arts similar to Lui He Ba Fa

Family: Unknown

Li Mei soon stood in the defense of her realm when she had joined with the Edenian Resistance. She cared a lot about Outworld, but it was not as if she had any love for Shao Kahn's reign over her home. She had hoped aiding the Resistance could free Outworld and that it could be a realm of peace. She showed drive to ensure that dream as a reality.

But things took a turn for the worst when the Resistance learned that Shao Kahnm had used the power of Quan Chi to resurrect Sindel and to prepare an invasion for Earthrealm. Soon, Kitana, Jade, and Li Mei prepared to venture into Earthrealm to aid their allies and perhaps put a stop to Shao Kahn ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Special Attacks

Nova Blast: Li Mei shoots a purple ball of energy at the opponent.

Flipping Heel Kick: Li Mei flips forward in a circular motion, bringing her feet over her head kicking the opponent and then landing back on her feet.

Flying Flurry: Li Mei launches herself forward with a series of punches to the opponent's face.

Carnival Spin: Li Mei spins backward and kicks the opponent in an impossible fashion.

Spinning Kick: Li Mei plans her hands on the ground, then spins at her opponent 3 times with kicks leading the approach.

Rising Sun Kick: Li Mei slides and kicks up at a 90 degree angle, to pop her opponent up into the air.

Rising Knee: Li Mei lifts up into the air with her knee extended out.

Air Buster: Li Mei dives down from the air with a diving punch.

Aggressor Mode

Shining Nova - Li Mei unleashes Nova Blasts whenever you press the Aggressor triggers.

Super Move

Shimmering Elegance - Li Mei knees her opponent, then kicks them rapidly as fast as she can, doing handstand kicks and spinning on her hands before she brings her leg up and kicks the enemy down with an axe kick.

Fatalities

Head Grenade: Li Mei walks up to her opponent and with one swift uppercut, knocks her foe's head straight into the air. Li Mei patiently waits for it to come back down before she kicks it hard at her opponent. When the head strikes them, they explode into piles of blood and bone.

Mountain Buster: Focusing her chi, Li Mei puts her hands onto her opponent's chest, then focusing, pushing forward hard, blowing a hole through their chest, as their heart slumps down in the gap of the hole, causing them to fall to their death.


Reiko

Race: Outworlder

Realm of Origin: Outworld

Home: Outworld

Fighting Style: Fighting style similar to Shao Kahn

Family: Shao Kahn (father), Raiden (uncle, estranged)

Reiko didn't trust Quan Chi. There was something about how the sorcerer from the Netherrealm operated. He seemed so nonchalant about Shao Kahn's defeat at the hands of Earthrealm's warriors, after he had planned the tournament in the first place. He knew that Chi obviously had some kind of agenda of his own against his father.

Even hearing of Quan Chi's plan to resurrect Queen Sindel, Reiko had his suspicions about the demon sorcerer. At his father's request, he had asked to keep an eye on him. Hesitant to fully trust him as well, Shao Kahn agreed to allow Reiko to keep an eye on Quan Chi. If he betrayed the Emepror's interests, his life would be forefeit.

Special Attacks

Assassin Throwing Stars: Reiko throws a barrage of shuriken at his opponent one at a time.

Vertical Teleport: Reiko leaps upwards disappearing in the air, then reappears behind the opponent coming up through the ground.

Devastating Flip Kick: Reiko twists his body in an impossible fashion landing a flip kick without his opposite foot even leaving the ground.

Charging Pain: Reiko performs a shoulder ram like Shao Kahn, but with a blue-ish energy representation of Shao Kahn's helmet appearing covering his head.

Rising Pain: Similar to the Charging Pain, only Reiko shoots up at an angle to pop his opponent up.

Wraith Hammer: Reiko uses his Crude Hammer and knocks the opponent away with a side swing.

Devastator: Reiko summons his Devastator sword, with his slashing downward at an arc over at his opponent, causing them to pop up after they're hit.

Aggressor Mode

Pride of Kahn: Reiko channels his chi, forming his blue manifestation of Shao Kahn's helmet covering his head, increasing his speed, attack damage, and recovery speed.

Super Move

Son of Kahn: Reiko leaps into the air with his Crude Hammer and comes down. When he hits his opponent, he begins to rapidly stomp on them, then picks them up, summons his Crude Hammer and sends them up into the sky with a powerful blow.

Fatalities

Blade of Kahn: Reiko summons his Devastator, impaling it into his opponent's chest, as he then summons his Crude Hammer, knocking his opponent's legs off.  He then uses his free hand, grabbing the handle of the Devastator sword, then pulls up, slicing his opponent vertically open.

Vengeful Hammer: Reiko summons his Crude Hammer, twisting his body as he slams the hammer hard onto their head, splattering it into pieces, then knocks their flailing corpse down onto the ground.

Frost

In the Outworld tournament, Frost was very shocked to learn of Earthrealm having a warrior descended from the Cryomancers. Facing Sub-Zero, she saw even as a stripling that his powers were on par with her, maybe even superior... and she loathed that notion. She knew she would want revenge on the Lin Kuei assassin.

The invasion had allowed her to step into Earthrealm, and while there, Frost confronted Sub-Zero again while he was on the run from the Lin Kuei's assassins. The two clashed briefly, but they never came to a conclusion. Frost knows she will face Sub-Zero again, and she will show her superiority as a Cryomancer.

Special Attacks

Frost Cutter: Using her cryomancer powers, Frost slashes the air with her hands, sending out 2 blades of sharpened ice.

Teleporting Uppercut: Frost disappears over one side of the screen and comes back from the other, uppercutting the opponent.

Frosty Slide: Sliding across the ground with a trail of ice, Frost uses two ice blades or Kori Blades to slash at her opponent, tripping them up as she does.

Ice Puddle: Frost shoots the ground with her ice blast, creating a puddle that the opponent will begin to slip around on if nearby.

Ice Spike: Frost slams her fist onto the ground, causing a spike of ice, almost like a stalagmite, appearing underneath her opponent, popping them up into the air.

Frozen Hammer: Frost forms a hammer of ice, which when it connects knocks the opponent down. This attack can also be done in the air.

Kori Daggers: Frost forms two daggers of ice, slicing twice at her opponent.

Kori Whip: Frost uses her Cryomancer powers and slashes rapidly with a whip of ice.

Aggressor Mode

Freezing Cold: Frost uses her Cryomancer powers to slow her opponent's movement speed as long as her Aggressor Meter is active.

Super Move

Endless Whiteout: Frost impales her opponent with three ice spikes from the ground, pinning them down. She then summons a snow storm around them and creates two solid ice spiked plates to the left and right of her opponent and making them crash into each other. She then creates one spiked plate above the opponent and smashes it down on him/her.

Fatalities

Breakdown: Frost freezes her opponent's chest, then kicks a hole in it. She then grabs her opponent's visible spine, freezing it, then pulls her arms to the sides, ripping her opponent in half.

Head Bomb: Grasping her opponent's throat, Frost freezes her opponent's body, then rips their head off. She takes a step back, tossing up the head, then throws it, shattering her opponent's body.

Ashrah

After the Outworld tournament, Ashrah returned home, fearing that there was more than meets the eye to Shao Kahn's defeat. Like the others, she would soon learn that Shao Kahn would be planning an invasion to Earthrealm somehow. Though as a kind of protector of Earthrealm, Ashrah wouldn't fail.

Once the invasion began, Ashrah helped as many of the people in Japan as she could, as well as other cities before she was met by Nightwolf, informing her that she had been chosen to protect Earthrealm, even if she had once been a being of darkness. Ashrah also had concerns about Quan Chi and the Brotherhood of Shadow's involvement... and if it meant Shinnok had some kind of hand...

Special Attacks

Light Burst: Ashrah shoots a ball of white energy that travels a very short distance but knocks the opponent back.

Heavenly Light: Shoots a ball of white energy upwards that will crash down on the opponent.

Spin Cycle: She spins in a circle and if she hits the opponent they will be sent flying. Pressing the button repeatedly will make it last longer.

Nature's Torpedo: She flies missile-like towards the opponent and if she connects, the opponent will be sent flying.

Wall of Light: Ashrah forms a wall of light that reflects projectiles back at the opponent.

Radiance: Ashrah disappears in a flash of light, then reappears behind her opponent.

Pillar of Light: Ashrah calls forth a pillar of light which can pop her opponent up into the air.

Bright Flash: Ashrah unleashes a flash of light, that temporarily blinds the opponent for a free hit.

Holy Light: Ashrah forms light around herself, which heals her health as she fights.

Super Move

Solar Burst: Ashrah sends out a ball of light. When it connects, she then holds her hand up, then brings it down, hitting her opponent with a powerful beam from the sun itself.

Final Light: Ashrah begins to glow, spreading her arms out as the light encases the opponent, causing them to disintegrate into nothingness.

Absolution: Ashrah puts her hands onto her opponent's shoulders, causing light to wrap around them which incinerates their skin, causing them to fall over.

Shao Kahn

For centuries Earth has used Mortal Kombat to defend itself against the Outworld's Emeperor Shao Kahn. But, Kahn becomes frustrated by failed attempts at taking Earth through tournament battle. He enacts a plan which began 10,000 years ago. During this time Kahn had a Queen. Her name was Sindel and her suicide created wards that prevented his entry into Earthrealm. But because of the actions of Quan Chi, the Netherrealm sorcerer, she would be reborn.

This unholy act gives Shao Kahn to step through the dimensional gates and reclaim his Queen. Thus enabling him to finally seize the Earthrealm... now, he leads an army into Earthrealm to pave the way for his inevitable arrival. He cares not that he violates the rules of the Elder Gods, because he believes himself above them. He now has his prize within grasp, and he will ensure that anyone whom is a threat is killed so none will oppose him...

Light Spear: Kahn uses his god-given powers and forms a spear, throwing it at his opponent.

Light Spear: Shao Kahn crouches down to his knees and throws a large light spear at his opponent.

Mystic Choke: Shao Kahn engulfs his foe in a force field and slams him/her twice in the chest.

Charging Spikes: Shao Kahn shoulder rams his opponent with a shadow trail following behind him, much like Johnny Cage's Shadow moves.

Wrath Hammer Attack: Shao Kahn summons his Wrath Hammer, seemingly from thin air, and smash his opponent over the head with it, setting them up for a free hit.

Uplifting Knee: Shao Kahn performs a rising knee attack with a streak following behind him, much like Johnny Cage's Shadow moves

Ridicule: Shao Kahn would often taunt, mock, and of course ridicule his opponents with insults, mockery, or just plain laughter.

Hammer Swing: Shao Kahn uppercuts the opponent with his hammer, also allowing a possible juggling combo if the move connects.

Hammer Cut: Kahn sweeps the foe with his hammer.

Upward Shoulder: Shao Kahn charges upwards, juggling the opponent.

Grab and Punch: Shao Kahn lifts his opponent up by the throat with one hand and then smash his fist into their face sending them sailing back.

Emperor's Shield: Shao Kahn creates an energy shield to either reverse attacks or to shatter the opponent. 

Hammer Throw: Shao Kahn throws his hammer at an opponent, stunning and setting them up for a free hit. 

Aggressor Mode

The Konqueror: Shao Kahn awakens his god-like powers, making him invulernable to projectile attacks as well as increaing his damage output and recovery speed though he takes more damage during this time.

Super Move

Hammer Dance: Shao Kahn swings his hammer at an alarming rate, causing his foe to fly. He makes 9 dancing strikes and 1 final strike. 

Fatalities

Double Down: Shao Kahn jabs his hands into the middle of his foe's torso and slowly rips their body down the middle.

Fore: Shao Kahn hammers his opponent into the ground and then, when they are buried up to their torso, smashes their head off with a golf swing.

Kabal

Once a member of the Black Dragon clan, Kabal gave up his life of crime and put his fighting skills to more positive uses. He joined the New York City police force to combat the underworld element he once served. This transition helped ease the pain of dark memories. Over time, one good deed become another, as he kept letting go of the past he had had...

But when New York was invaded by Shao Kahn's army, he underwent another transformation—one that would afflict him physically. Severely injured in battle, he is doomed to wear a life support system forever. Now, he turns his attention to end Kahn's invasion. As an unlikely member of the chosen warriors meant to stop Shao Kahn's army, Kabal prays he will be able to be enough.

Special Attacks

Nomad Dash: Kabal runs forward at a very fast speed past his opponent, leaving them spinning into a dizzy state.

Gas Blast: Kabal fires a purple projectile from his mask. He can do this both on the ground and in the air.

Buzzsaw: Kabal summons sawblades from the ground, cutting the opponent.

Nomad's Touch: Kabal thrusts out his hands towards the opponent, and - if they are in range - will be caught in an odd field that draws them in to collide with Kabal, though only the opponent gets hurt when they make contact.

Tornado Slam: Kabal takes both hookswords and slashes in front of him, if the opponent is in range, they will be hooked. He then spins the hookswords, spins the opponent around, and slams them on the ground.

Aggressor Mode

Nomad Sabre: Kabal draws both his hookswords, changing his normal attacks properties as well as increasing their damage output and recovery speed.

Super Move

Kabal's Skills: Kabal charges forward and hits his opponent. When he connects, he withdraws his hookswords, then runs at high speeds, slashing at his opponent rapidly before he turns and knocks them up into the air.

Fatalities

Hook Up: Kabal kicks his foe into the air and slices the opponent vertically, with their head impaled on the hooksword upon impact.

Tornado Cut: Kabal kicks his opponent, causing them to spin, then pulls out one of his hookswords and slashes at them rapidly, cutting them into different pieces.


Kurtis Stryker

Race: Human

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: New York City, New York

Fighting Style: SWAT training

Family: Katie Stryker (wife)

One of New York City's Finest, Stryker is a one-man SWAT team. He was once decorated for single-handedly thwarting the terrorists in the famous Greenberg Tower Incident, and again for rescuing passengers of a speeding crosstown bus rigged to explode.

He was unprepared, however, for the magical portal that spewed forth creatures from another realm—a realm he didn't even know existed. So far his kombat training has gotten him through the first wave of creatures. It'll take more than rocket-launching Tarkatans to stop this die-hard cop.

Special Attacks

Gun Shot: Stryker pulls out his Beretta 92 variant and shoots at his opponent. This can be charged for a delayed shot.

Grenade: Stryker throws a concussion grenade at his opponent. Two versions of this move exist, one allowing the projectile to be thrown in a high arc, called High Grenade Toss and another with a low arc, called Low Grenade Toss. It sometimes follows Stryker saying "EAT THIS!"

Stun Gun: Stryker fires his taser and delivers an electric shock from long range.

Roll Toss: Stryker rolls towards the opponent, then grabs them, followed by a slamming throw.

Baton Sweep: Stryker uses his baton to trip the opponent.

Aggressor Mode

Special Weapons and Tactics: The damage of Stryker's special attacks is increased, along with his special attacks now taking on their enhanced versions automatically while the enhanced versions do more damage.

Super Move

Busted: Stryker pulls out a flashlight and shines it into the opponent's eyes, blinding them and causing them to kneel down. Stryker then slams his flashlight on top of the opponent's skull, breaking it. He then slams the opponent in the side of the face with a baton that breaks the jaw and skull even more. He finishes the combo by tasing the opponent.

Fatalities

Have a Blast: Stryker lodges an unpinned grenade into the opponent's stomach and turns away. The grenade will then explode in their stomach, leaving their fiery lower body on the floor.

Time Served: Stryker tasers his opponent, then he graphically shoots their head off with his pistol.


Sindel

Race: Edenian

Realm of Origin: Edenia

Family: King Jerrod (husband, deceased), Kitana (daughter), Shao Kahn (husband)

The mother of Kitana, Queen Sindel was forced into marriage with Shao Kahn when he conquered her realm of Edenia. In an attempt to thwart the emperor's designs on Earthrealm, she sacrificed herself. Her suicide created a magical ward preventing him from setting foot there. But now the barrier has been dissolved.

Sindel has been resurrected by Quan Chi, her mind enslaved by Shao Kahn. Earthrealm's former ally has become a deadly threat. However, Kitana feels there must be some way to be able to save her mother from Kahn's clutches, but with Earth now falling into Kahn's clutches, this will be a war that will be hard to win...

Special Attacks

Yell: One of her most well-known signature moves. She screams at super high volume, and it stuns the opponent, giving her a free hit.

Fireball: Sindel fires a purple fireball at the opponent. She can do this while floating in the air as well. She can also fire a lower version of this projectile from a crouching position.

Sliding Foot Grab: Sindel slides towards the opponent. If she connects, she grabs onto the opponent's feet, causing them to wobble, then brings her own feet over to kick the opponent in the head.

Hair Whip: Used as her grab move in previous incarnations, Sindel wraps her opponent in her hair and sends them flying to the other side of the arena

Step Up: Sindel performs a gymnastic front walkover, kicking the opponent. If the move connects, she follows it up with a backward aerial cartwheel which kicks the opponent upward.

Flight: Sindel uses her magic to take flight.

Aggressor Mode

Fallen Queen: Sindel uses her magic to power herself up, increasing the damage of her special attacks as well as giving her better movement speed outside of dashing, running, and back steps.

Super Move

Hair Spin: Sindel extends out her long hair, wrapping her opponent in it, then spins them around. As they do, she pulls her head back and shoots out a blast of Fireballs, blasting her opponent as she does.

Fatalities

Migraine: Depending on which side the fatality is performed, Sindel Yells into her opponent's ear and the opposite half of their head explodes.

Deadly Scream: Sindel screams with such force that her opponent's skin rips off of its body and a skeleton covered in flesh remains.


Sheeva

Race: Shokan, Draco lineage

Realm of Origin: Outworld

Home: Kuatan, Outworld

Fighting Style: Shokan martial arts

Family: Kintaro (ex-husband, deceased)

Sheeva is a member of the four-armed Shokan race. Her markings reveal that she is of the royal Draco lineage. Like all Shokan, she pledged her life to Shao Kahn, bringing honor to her race by serving him. During an attack by Edenian rebels on Shao Kahn's fortress, Sheeva fiercely protected Queen Sindel and prevented her capture. She was subsequently appointed Sindel's personal bodyguard until the queen's mysterious death. Sheeva is now the master jailer of Shao Kahn's oppressive dungeon.

In Shao Kahn's occupation of Earth, Sheeva not only protects Queen Sindel since her return, she wishes to show the superiority of the Shokan when she had learned her ex-husband, Kintaro of the Tigrar lineage of Shokan, as well as Shao Kahn's mightiest warrior in the arenas, had been killed by mortals. She would WANT to kill the human who killed her beloved. Even if separated and divorced, Sheeva still loved Kintaro for his might, and wished to restore his honor.

Special Attacks

Death From Above: Sheeva jumps high into the air and off-screen, only to come crashing down on her opponent, then jumps up and down, crushing her opponent under her bare feet.

Searing Blast: Sheeva launches a fireball, which can knock the opponent to the ground.

Furious Stomp: Sheeva stomps on the ground hard, knocking the opponent back and causing additional damage.

Untamed Fury: Sheeva lunges forward, grabs the opponent with her lower arms, hits them repeatedly in the face with her upper arms, then smacks them across the stage.

Anti-Air Grab: Sheeva grabs an opponent from mid-air, slams them on the ground, and stomps on their chest and groin.

Low Grab: Sheeva grabs a ducked opponent and slams them behind her, as well as allowing for a juggle.

Power Kick: Sheeva steps forward and does a powerful thrust kick that sends her opponent flying.

Aggressor Mode

Draco Roar: Sheeva's body markings begin to glow, adding some fire-based damage to her normal attacks.

Super Move

Slam Dance: Sheeva stomps the ground causing the opponent to go in the air and land in front of her face first, as they lay on the ground, she smashes their head, crushing it. Then tramples their back, crushing their spine, ribs, and organs. She then slams the opponent behind her.

Fatalities

Stripped Down: Grabbing a handful of flesh in each of her four fists, Sheeva pulls her opponent's skin way in two pieces, in an upward motion. She then kicks the opponent's skinless body away, then lifts the flesh.

Prisoner Execution: Sheeva grabs her opponent's torso with her lower arms, then grabs their head with her upper arms, squeezing for a grip as she then pulls upward, ripping their head off, then drops the head, before ripping their torso from their legs.


Sektor

Race: Cyborg (formerly Human)

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Unknown location, Lin Kuei temple in China

Fighting Style: Lin Kuei-style Ninjutsu, cybernetic weaponry

Family: Oniro (father)

The son of the Grand Master, it was never in question that Sektor would join the Lin Kuei. What pleases the Grand Master is the degree to which his son relishes the life of an assassin. The secretive clan allows Sektor to express his darker nature, using any means necessary to complete his tasks. He specializes in using missiles as well as a flamethrower when in battle as well as his own prowess in martial arts.

Due to his fierce loyalty, Sektor willingly underwent gaining cybernetic enhancements to make him all the more dangerous. Now he hunts the treacherous Sub-Zero along with his fellow cyborg assassins, Cyrax and Smoke. However.. Sektor's ultimate goal is to supplant his father as Grand Master of the Lin Kuei.

Special Attacks

Straight Missile: Sektor fires a missile directly at his opponent from his chest.

Teleport Uppercut: Sektor teleports under his opponent and gives him a rising uppercut. This move can also be done in air.

Up Missile: Sektor fires a missile upwards, which falls back down, hitting the opponent from above, or in front or behind them.

Flame Burner: Sektor fires flames at the opponent with his arm implanted flamethrower.

Teleport Hook: Sektor teleports like in his Teleport Uppercut, but he appears behind his opponent and hits them with a heavy hook.

Shoulder Cannon: Sektor reveals a shoulder pulse cannon and fires it.

Aggressor Mode

Scanner Mode: Sektor taps his arm console, then forms scanning lines along his opponent, increasing his overall damage.

Super Move

All-Out Artillery: Sektor transforms his right arm into a massive weapon, punching his opponent, as he then extends his arms out, firing out a barrage of missiles, laser pulses, machine guns, and finishing with his flamethrowers.

Fatalities

Compactor: A large crushing device emerges from Sektor's chest and slits itself over the opponent's head and under the opponent's feet. At Sektor's command, the compactor closes in, thus crushing the opponent to death.

Flamethrower: Sektor burns the opponent to death via flamethrower that is implanted in his arm.


Cyrax

Race: Cyborg (formerly Human)

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Unknown location, Lin Kuei temple in China

Fighting Style: Lin Kuei-style Ninjutsu, cybernetic weaponry

Family: Unknown

A skilled Motswana warrior, Cyrax relies on his natural fighting ability, his chi, to carry out Lin Kuei missions. He is proud to serve, but when the Grand Master initiates a program to convert the clan into cyborgs, Cyrax resists. He is reluctant to lose his humanity, which he believes is more effective than any mechanical augmentation.

Unfortunately, Cyrax attempted to leave the Lin Kuei, but suffered horrible injuries and was forced into augmentation along with Sektor and the captured Smoke. The three of them are assigned to hunt down Sub-Zero so that he may pay for leaving the Lin Kuei. No one leaves the Lin Kuei alive... though will Cyrax be able to bring back the man he once was?

Special Attacks

Energy Net: Cyrax fires a green energy net from his chest which ensnares the opponent temporarily.

Bomb: Cyrax drops a bomb from his chest compartment in front of him, which explodes after a couple of seconds. He can shoot the bomb either far or near.

Teleport: Cyrax vanishes and reappears behind the opponent.

Anti-Air: Cyrax can throw his opponent when his opponent is in the air.

Funky Spin Kicks: Cyrax performs a spin kick while balancing on one of his legs.

Reverse Kick: Cyrax preforms a reverse kick to his opponent, sending him/her on the other side.

Ragdoll: After performing Reverse Kick, Cyrax grabs his opponent in mid air, and throws them down on the ground.

Buzzsaw: Cyrax opens his chest compartment and a giant sawblade emerges.

Aggressor Mode

Stealth Mode: Cyrax's dashes give Cyrax the ability to dash by invisible, leaving him invincible for some frames.

Super Move

Motswana Pride: Cyrax charges shoulder first at his opponent, and if he hits, he then begins to do a flurry of punches and kicks, ending by slamming a bomb onto his opponent, shooting them into the air.

Fatalities

Buzz Kill: Cyrax turns his hand into a sawblade and slices his opponent with it. Cyrax finishes the job by kicking the opponent, making him/her fall down in pieces.

Nothing but Net: After entering some coordinates into his arm module, Cyrax fires an energy net that passes straight through the enemy. The opponent then screams in terror as he/she falls to pieces.


Cyber Smoke (replaces Smoke)

Smoke and Sub-Zero would return to the Lin Kuei temple having come to learn the full truth of Scorpion's return, but another horror outside of Shao Kahn's tournament awaited them. Oniro, the Grand Master of the Lin Kuei, had begun the rumored Cyber Initiative, having the Lin Kuei's finest become cyborgs to enhance their strength, and he intended for Sub-Zero and Smoke to go through the process.

Both were captured and sent to the Doctor. However, the two friends managed to break free BARELY. As they ran for their lives, they were purused by Sektor and Cyrax. Unfortunately, Smoke was recaptured, converted first into a cyborg. His mind essentially reprogrammed and rewired to be loyal only to the Lin Kuei, Smoke now works with Sektor and Cyrax to track down Sub-Zero and kill him. If there is a piece of his humanity left, it is buried deep under the cybernetics that enhance his body now..

Special Attacks

Invisibility: Smoke disappears while a puff of smoke helps him become invisible.

Smoke Away/Smoke Towards: Smoke turns into a cloud of smoke and dashes forwards or backwards.

Teleport: Smoke disappears, then reappears punching the opponent in the back and in front of them.

Smoke Cloud: Smoke throws a smoke projectile at his opponent. If it connects, they are teleported up into the air and closer to Smoke, where they are vulnerable to attack.

Shake: Smoke stands in place and surrounds himself with smoke, if a projectile touches him, Smoke will counterattack. This can be charged.

Stinky Cloud: Smoke dashes back, leaving a noxious cloud that can stun his opponent.

Play Dead: Smoke falls backwards, arms over his chest, as he disappears in a cloud of smoke.

Aggressor Mode

Enenra Wraith: Smoke focuses his "humanoid" form into a more gaseous state, his dash gaining range as well as his jumps gaining speed and range.

Fatalities

Teleport Decapitation: Smoke teleports at his opponent as a cloud, then focuses as he slices their head off clean from their shoulders.

Smoke Death: Smoke disappears into thin air, after which he hits his enemy in the face. He then tears off their arms and head before becoming visible once more.

Motaro

When Kintaro was killed by Kung Lao in Outworld, the Shokan had lost a great standing in Shao Kahn's army. Seeing an opportunity, the Centaurs had sent one of their finest warriors, Motaro, to fill in the gap that Kintaro's demise left. He proved himself by killing several lower class Shokan effortlessly, earning the position of Shao Kahn's bodyguard.

Soon, the invasion of Earthrealm began so Shao Kahn could reclaim Sindel, with Motaro given the honor of leading one of Kahn's extermination squads, designed to hunt down and kill any resistance to the Emperor's takeover of Earthrealm. He would first prove his mettle to the Emperor in New York City... and he has NO desire to fail.

Special Attacks

Tail Projectile: Motaro fires an energy blast from his tail at the opponent.

Grab and Punch: Motaro lifts his opponent up by the throat with one hand and then smashes his fist into their face sending them sailing across the arena.

Teleport: Motaro vaporizes in a wavy fashion and reappears behind his opponent in the same manner.

Bull Charge: Motaro charges at his opponent, knocking him/her down.

Propel: Motaro charges at his opponent, flying toward his/her legs, knocking him/her down. This move can only be performed in Mount Stance.

Donkey Kick: Motaro kicks his opponent with his two back legs, like a horse, sending him/her upwards.

Mount Stance: Motaro leans on his front legs, then can attack with a variety of moves.

Stampede: Motaro runs forward, trampling over his opponent.

Gore: Motaro does his Bull Charge, but when he hits his opponent, he lifts them up with his head, and throws them into the air.

Death Spear: Motaro calls forth his spear and impales his opponent with it.

Aggressor Mode

Execution Squad Leader: Motaro begins to glow, protecting him from projectile-based special attacks as well as the effects of other Aggressor Modes.

Super Move

Bronco Buster: Motaro charges at his opponent like his Bull Charge. If he hits them, he then leaps into the air, stomping onto them rapidly with a mix of his front and back legs before he grabs them by his tail, pulls them up, and punches them away.

Fatalities

Evisceration: Motaro summons his Death Spear, then impales his opponent with it, pulling back as he rapidly jabs it into them, then he comes down, impaling them onto it, before he holds them up into the air, as if to present their corpse.

Centaur Rage: Motaro snorts, then kicks his opponent with his front legs, followed by stomping onto his opponent's shoulders, leaning down with his upper body, grabbing their arms as he applies pressure with his legs, pulling them up as he then rips their torso off, before he uses his tail, slicing them in half vertically and grins triumphantly as he holds up their remains.

Mid-Boss in Arcade Mode, unlockable in the Krypt.


Rain

Race: Edenian

A refugee orphaned by Shao Kahn's conquest, Rain grew up under the protection of the Edenian Resistance. An exceptional fighter, he soon rose through their ranks. As his reputation grew, so did his arrogance. When Rain demanded leadership of the Resistance forces, he was refused.

Infuriated, he turned against his rebel comrades and betrayed them to their sworn enemy. In payment for this treason, Rain was promised his own army by the emperor Shao Kahn. Power would be his—no matter the cost. Now a general in Shao Kahn's army, Rain seeks out those who seek to depose the Emperor in Earthrealm and Outworld.

Special Attacks

Water Bubble: Rain projects a light-blue sphere at his opponent, which shatters as it hits, encasing the opponent into a bubble. A successful hit allows Rain to move his opponent's body in any direction for a brief time.

Lightning: Rain raises his arm and summons a blue lightning bolt to strike his enemy.

Super Kick: Rain reverse roundhouses his opponent clear to the other side of the screen.

Aqua Splash: Rain shoots a high-pressure stream of water at his adversary, knocking the opponent down.

Water-Port: Rain submerges himself in a small pool of water and emerges behind his opponent. This can also be done in the air.

Windy Feet: Rain propels himself forward with a blast of water from behind, kicking his opponent in the chest with both feet.

Geyser Kick: Rain goes into a handstand position and propels himself into the air using a geyser kicking anyone who is near.

H2O Boost: Rain waves his arm above his head and gains a damage boost, but he is unable to block. He glows yellow while this is active.

Aggressor Mode

Prince of Edenia: Rain focuses water around his hands and feet, increasing his damage output for his normal attacks.

Super Move

Rain Check: Rain conjures a geyser below the opponent, which lands them in front of him. He then snaps one of the opponent's arms from the elbow, and then delivers a brutal reverse roundhouse kick to the face, damaging the skull forcing the victim to fly to the other side of the screen just like the Super Kick.

Fatalities

Bubble Burst: Rain summons a large ball of water around the victim's head, and then forces it down the opponent's throat causing them to inflate and then explode.

When Lightning Strikes: Rain sends a bolt of lightning that strikes the opponent over and over until they explode to pieces.

Drahmin

Race: Oni (formerly Human)

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Netherrealm

Fighting Style: Oni combat

Family: Long dead

A wandering Oni allied with Moloch, Drahmin was once a vicious warlord who found himself punished in the flames of Hell after his death. Over the centuries, he has achieved the status of Oni Tormentor and now practices his skills on the miserable souls of the fallen. It is because of this power and brutality that he caught the eye of Quan Chi.

Drahmin had been asked by the demon sorcerer to aid Shinnok in any manner of tasks, the most recent being that they accompany Quan Chi in his mission to aid Shao Kahn in his invasion of Earthreakm. Eager to escape the Netherrealm, the two Oni accepted, and soon, they would have NEW playthings to deal with...

Special Attacks

Ball-O-Flies: Drahmin gathers the flies around his body and throws them at the opponent.

Propeller Clock: Drahmin swings his club like a clock, knocking the opponent down.

Rising Uppercut: Drahmin uppercuts the opponent, launching him.

Ground Smash: Drahmin slams the ground with his club, creating a shockwave.

Oni Crush: Drahmin leaps into the air and comes down with his club.

Drill Kick: Drahmin leaps into the air and twists like a drill, knocking his opponent down.

Fly Summon: Drahmin summons more of the flies that surround his body.

Fly Shield: Drahmin has the flies around him form a barrier to protect him.

Aggressor Mode

Lord of the Flies: Drahmin gets surrounded by many flies, allowing him to hit his opponent with them in his normal attacks as well as in his special attacks.

Super Move

Death Penalty: Drahmin pulls his arm back, which can be charged, leading to him to do a clothesline. When he hits his opponent, he sends them flying, causing him to leap up, slamming them down with his club, then lands on them. He then twists around, going "TIME FOR YOUR DEATH PENALTY!!!" and begins to pummel his opponent, before picking them up and headbutts them hard.

Fatalities

Club Smash: Drahmin smashes the opponent's head to pieces, causing the headless body to wander around for a few seconds before Drahmin smashes the body to the ground.

Fly Decay: Drahmin sends out his flies which begin to swarm around them, showing their true nature to be voracious eaters as they begin to rip their flesh apart, causing them to become a bloody skeleton that crumbles down before the flies float around Drahmin again.

Moloch

Race: Oni

Realm of Origin: Netherrealm

Fighting Style: Oni combat

Family: None (sees Drahmin as like a brother)

A demon, or Oni, Moloch is a creature known more for his strength than his intellect. Astoundingly powerful and remarkably cruel, this hulking brute takes pure delight in the pain and suffering of others, especially if he has caused that pain. He had first met Drahmin while traversing the 5th circle of the Netherrealm, and found a kindred spirit, as well as the two killing and maiming many in their path.

Eventually, the two were met by Quan Chi, the demonic sorcerer and servant to Shinnok, Lord of the Netherrealm. The duo were tasked with many tasks, the most recent being that they accompany Quan Chi in his mission to aid Shao Kahn in his invasion of Earthreakm. Eager to escape the Netherrealm, the two Oni accepted, and soon, they would have NEW playthings to deal with...

Special Attacks

Beast Lord: Moloch charges at the opponent, knocking them down.

Ground Bash: Moloch slams his orb on the ground, causing heavy damage.

Suction Breath: Moloch creates a large gust of wind which pulls the opponent towards him, and if successful, the opponent bounces off Moloch's body and is left open for a juggle.

Power Ball: Moloch strikes the ground with his orb and creates a projectile which strikes the opponent's legs.

Super Charge: Moloch raises his arm into the air and roars. This heals some damage.

Ragin' Oni: Moloch flails both his arms in the air wildly. This also heals damage.

Furious Howl: Moloch emits a loud howl, which also heals damage.

Oni Roar: Moloch lets a massive roar out, stunning his opponent for a free hit.

Ground Stomp: Jumping up, Moloch slams his iron ball down on the ground, causing the ground to shake.

Aggressor Mode

Rage: Moloch begins to glow, improving his movement speed as well as the speed and recovery of his attacks.

Super Move

Double Up: Moloch kicks at his opponent. Should his kick hit, he sends them flying, then swings his iron ball and chain downward at them, sending it onto them and crashing them hard into the ground.

Fatalities

Hunger: Moloch walks up to his opponent, grabbing them by their neck, opening his mouth, then bites their head off, snacking on it as he holds up the now-headless corpse triumphantly.

Brutal Ball: Moloch swings his iron ball and chain out, hitting his opponent hard onto it, then sends it up, the opponent still on it, then comes down, flattering them into a gruesome pile of flesh and bones, as their head rolls some distance from the impact site.

Sub-Boss in Arcade Mode, unlockable in the Krypt.


Oniro

Race: Human (mystically enhanced)

Realm of Origin: Earthrealm

Home: Unknown location, Lin Kuei temple in China

Fighting Style: Lin Kuei-style Ninjutsu

Family: Sektor (son)

The 105th Grand Master of the Lin Kuei, Oniro is a powerful shapeshifter, calling on the powers of the animal kingdom to his beck and call. He has done many things in order to allow the Lin Kuei to thrive; hiring Quan Chi to kill their nemeses, the Shirai-Ryu, sending Sub-Zero to Mortal Kombat, as well as initiating the Cyber Initiative.

Though a belief in modern technology, Oniro also believes in the power of one's self, particularly his own power. It is why he has been so willing to ally himself with Shao Kahn when the Emperor's emissaries came to the Lin Kuei temple. He knows that his might makes him a god, and he wishes to be on the side of victory, regardless of the stakes. He also has a traitor to deal with personally... even with his son Sektor, Cyrax, and Smoke having entered the Cyber Initiative as well.

Special Attacks

Panther Claw: Oniro transforms his arm into a panther's leg and claw, slashing at his opponent quickly.

Eagle Dash: Forming wings on his back, Oniro dashes forward.

Spiked Shell: Oniro uses his powers to turn his arms into a spiked version of a turtle's shell.

Dragon Fire: Oniro forms into a dragon, breathing a stream of fire at his opponent.

Rhino Charge: Oniro turns his head into a rhino's, then charges at his opponent, knocking them down.

Snake Wrap: Oniro turns into a snake, wrapping around his opponent, then squeezes, causing them to slump down.

Aggressor Mode

Grand Master: Snapping his fingers, Oniro calls forth a Lin Kuei cyborg ninja, who attacks with him when he does normal attacks occasionally.

Super Move

More Stealthful than the Night, More Deadly than the Dawn: Oniro hits his opponent with a punch, then snaps his fingers as several members of the Lin Kuei appear, hitting the opponent rapidly before Oniro comes down with a sword and slashes them.

Fatalities

Vulture Buzz: Oniro transforms himself into a vulture and takes half of his opponent's body off with his talons. The head falls back down moments later. He then comes down, chuckling when he becomes human.

Bear Maul: Oniro transforms into a bear, leaping onto his opponent as he begins to rip into their guts with his teeth, and tearing their body apart with his claws.
