Welcome to the Game Ideas Wiki Character Tournament. When I tried this last time, the wiki had users in small amount, plus I wasn't comitted to this idea like I am now.

The roster of the tournament will consist of characters only from video games (before saying some are from anime, they have been in video games!). Plus, there will even be some characters from Game Ideas on this wiki! A word of warning: the roster will be slightly heavily filled with Mario and Pokemon characters, but that's because the two series are filled with so many noteworthy additions.

This is how it will go. I will post four matchups in which users will be able to vote for the winner. After at least 5 votes (or a duration of a week), I will post the winner and four more matchups.

Tiki Tong was an interesting boss of one of my favorite games, but the way he fights is very unoriginal. Plus, he can't compete with a main hero of a popular anime. My vote goes to Naruto. Beecanoe 23:55, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

Naruto would win, but I don't care much either way. Tiki Tong for the sake of argument, and because he is a Tiki. I like tikis. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 01:43, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

I'm gonna have to go with Naruto. For simple logical reasons: according to the main canon plotline for Donkey Kong Country Returns, either Donkey or Diddy Kong or both defeats Tiki Tong at the end of the game. In a one on one, I think Naruto would be more than a match for Donkey Kong. Therefore, I think Naruto could triumph over Tikit Tong. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 03:55, February 11, 2012 (UTC)

I really hate to say this, but my vote apparently goes to Naruto Uzumaki. Why do I hate spitting out things like that? Because I just DON'T care for this particular character. He's generic, annoying, and simply pathetic for a main lead in his own series (created by Masashi Kishimoto, btw). However, I sort of look at Tiki Tong the same way, except unlike Uzumaki, Tiki is someone I find to be a bit forgettable for a DK villain. {sigh} If only Retro Studios knew about King K. Rool. Since Eggman is such a classic character and his portrayls have been amazing, my vote goes to him.

I'd love to watch the fight, but I'd kinda like Eggman to win. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 01:43, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

Beecanoe 23:55, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

I'm no expert on the Sega universe, but I know about Eggman and I breezed through the article on NiGHTS. In conclusion, it seems to me that in a man-on-man fight, it would be NiGHTS, because Eggman seems to rely more on technology for his wins. "I'll kill you with my sword!" This is kind of a tough one. I guess I'll have to say Bowser Jr. because I never really liked the Pokemon Venusaur. Beecanoe 00:05, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

Make that 2 for B Jr. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 01:43, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

I believe Venusaur would be the victor for this one. According to Bulbapedia, Venusaur is capable of landing hits tantamount to the force of an armored truck, and prides moves such as Giga Impact, which as seen in Pokemon BW, have tremendous force.

Now look at Bowser Jr. He's fast and pretty nimble, but his physique as well as overconfidence make him clumsy and prone to screw-ups. As such, if Venusaur managed to land a single hit, he would break Bowser Jr. in many bad places. So, my vote goes to him. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Metagross, I guess. It just looks a lot cooler than Sceptile. Beecanoe 00:05, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

Metagross. All the way. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 01:43, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

Hmmmm... this is a very tough call. I suppose it just routes right back to the nature of each style of combat; Metagross is a large Pokemon that is able to elevate itself, and its moveset is primarily power, with moves such as Giga Impact. It also possesses four brains, giving it the intelligence of a supercomputer and praiseworthy wisdom.

Sceptile's moveset is based on speed. Its forte is slashing using the sword-like leaves on its body, and it is very agile and precise.

This is a pretty ambiguous decision, as they're both excellent fighters and are quite well matched. Metagross is capable, probably of predicting Sceptile's movements, although he may not be because Sceptile is very quick. I suppose it comes down to how powerful Sceptile's slashing is, and how tough Metagross's skin is. If Sceptile specializes in quick slashes with not a lot of power, and if Metagross has incredibly powerful skin, then it would be Metagross. However, if it went in the opposite direction, it would be Sceptile. It depends solely on circumstance in the end. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:14, February 11, 2012 (UTC)

Extra Vote

I can see the size of the bracket struck up some controversy. So, I ask this question: Should I continue the tournament as is, or create a new, trimmed roster?

Votes and Comments go here

This is your decision, people :P Beecanoe 00:05, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

How about you give the option to BOMB certain players, meaning something random or ironic eliminates both fighters. Majority rules, and if fewer BOMBs than the said winner, something randomly makes them win. If it is a tie, with no BOMBs, you can have them be discharged or the fight could go to the character with the better reason/argument to winning. Sort of like Bass Legends, on SmackJeeves, or Roy's Battle Arena. Both are excellent. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 01:43, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

I'll just be honest and say that you continue the tournament as it is. If anything, I want this rumble to go on LONGER, actually. The tournament in itself is looking mighty fine, so far! "I was frozen today!" 09:20, February 10, 2012 (UTC)Ouroburos.TheNewSaurian

Or we could move some to another season. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 13:01, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

Well, if we want to make this tournament faster, we can have five votes before a week is up. But if people don't want to vote, that's what the one-week limit is for.

As for the BOMB idea, I would only use it if there was a tie by the time a week came by.

Beecanoe 18:55, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

I think the bombing idea is actually pretty good. However, it might be a bit too random. It would essentially be getting rid of characters without careful evaluation. If anything, you should keep it as it is. And, you may be already doing this, but be sure to remove any characters that have lost by popular vote. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:17, February 11, 2012 (UTC)

Day 4: Round 1-Part 1 Winners

Tiki Tong VS Naruto

The battle took place on Tiki Tong's stomping grounds. Naruto ascended the gigantic tower riding a rocketbarrel provided by the tournament keepers. The ninja flew all the way to the top where Tiki Tong waited (without his floating hands).

Naruto thought fighting a giant floating head would be easy, but he summoned five shadow clones just to help him out. Tiki Tong then summoned his tikis to hypnotize all of Naruto's shadow clones, who proceeded to attack him. But Tiki Tong didn't know that Naruto could return the clones to himself at will, and that's just what he did. Both combatants knew they couldn't use a key attack in their arsenal for the battle: Naruto couldn't use his Shadow Clones, and Tiki Tong couldn't use hypnosis. It was a full-on fight. Tiki Tong transformed his Tiki minions into two massive floating hands and attacked Naruto.

Tiki Tong was very powerful with his attacks, slamming his hands into the ground, trying to crush the young ninja, but Naruto was faster. He would dodge, jump, and slice the weak points on the top of the tiki's hands with his kunai until the hands disappeared.

Tiki Tong was furious and began spitting fire. He actually landed a hit or two on Naruto, and then decided to swoop in for another attack, but Naruto used Rasengan out of desperation and blew off Tiki Tong's crown. In the moment he had to act, Naruto leapt and repeatedly slashed the weak point on Tiki Tong's head, defeating him.

Dr. Eggman VS NiGHTS

The fight started with Dr. Eggman trying to land a hit on NiGHTS using a cannon from a robot he was piloting, but NiGHTS flew too fast. The doctor then realized he could probably land a hit on NiGHTS using homing missiles and gave it a shot. Eggman fired five missiles at once at the poor creature. NiGHTS used his Rocket Persona ability and tore through all the missiles and headed straight for Eggman. Dr. Eggman threw a massive spiked ball from the robot straight at NiGHTS in rocket form and returned him to normal form and also dealing some damage.

NiGHTS shakes it off and flies toward Eggman's giant mech. He uses Drill Dash to break through the glass cockpit and uses Push to force the doctor straight out.

NiGHTS approaches Dr. Eggman and realizes that he's not actually Eggman. It was a robot that looked like him piloting the mech. Suddenly NiGHTS is struck by many laser blasts from the real Eggman's robot, which is bigger than the first.

NiGHTS flies straight at Dr. Eggman, frustrated that he was fooled so easily. The mech grabs NiGHTS in midair and throws him to the ground. He fires a missile at the original, unpiloted robot, causing it to explode near NiGHTS, making Dr. Eggman win the match.

Venusaur VS Bowser Jr.

Bowser Jr., unaware of who his opponent is, walks aimlessly around. He then sees a giant plant in front of him. Bowser Jr. doesn't think before he acts and proceeds to eat the plant and spits it out. "Gross! I hate spinach!" he shouts. The full form of the plant then appears, who reveals itself to be Venusaur, and he is angry.

Venusaur creates an Earthquake which makes Bowser Jr. fall over, flipping him onto his shell. Bowser Jr. can't get up and starts to cry. Venusaur starts to approach Bowser Jr. when an airship full of the Koopalings flies overhead and they see their brother in trouble. They shoot cannonballs at Venusaur, who falls to the ground. The ship lowers a mechanical arm that flips Bowser Jr. back over. The Koopalings wish their brother good luck and fly away.

Venusaur gets up and uses Bullet Seed on Bowser Jr., who deflects the shots with his brush. Bowser Jr. starts to swing his brush around and hitting the giant Pokemon with it. Venusaur uses Frenzy Plant and summons a bunch of plants to grab Bowser Jr. and damage him. This wasn't a totally good move, as when it ended, Venusaur was forced to rest, resulting in Bowser Jr. pummeling him with many swings of his brush.

The big Pokemon is back in action shortly after and uses Giga Impact, another powerful move, but a poor choice just the same. This time, Bowser Jr. hurdles Venusaur's attacking body, causing the move to miss. Bowser Jr. picks up a Bob-Omb which blows the Grass-type Pokemon up and defeats him.

Sceptile VS Metagross

The fight began with Sceptile repeatedly attacking Metagross with amazing speed. But, despite his speed, he lacked enough power to break through Metagross's rock-hard defense. Leaf Blade and Slam were mainly the moves that weren't very effective. Metagross had trouble as well. He was strong, but his powerful moves couldn't hit Sceptile because he was so fast.

Metagross began to use Agility a bunch of times to increase his speed, and it helped a bunch. Sceptile no longer had any advantage over Metagross. The Pokemon struck Sceptile with Zen Headbutt, then punched him in the face with Meteor Mash. Sceptile used Leaf Storm as a Last Resort, but it did little damage. Metagross finished Sceptile off with a Hyper Beam. Had Sceptile had any speed-increasing moves in his arsenal rather than relying on natural speed, he most likely would have had a better chance.

Extra Vote

As you all can probably tell, we've made the decision to keep the tournament running as is. Of course, I really don't care much, it's just it'll take longer now. To make things run faster, at least five of you can vote before a week is up because after five votes, I'll announce a winner the next day.

Day 5: Round 1-Part 2

Charizard VS Snickard

For info on Charizard, click here.

There's no page for Snickard, because he's a character created by Beecanoe, and the page for his respectul game idea gives little informatio</u>n. He doesn't have a picture, either.

Snickard is one of the first Zagodah creatures created by the renowned scientist Dr. Cyber. Snickard, along with all the other Zagodah were forced to move to a different planet far from Earth when the government shut Dr. Cyber's Zagodah project down. Immediately after arriving on the planet, a villainous Zagodah, Lord Arachnatis, takes the planet for himself and makes all others inferior to him. Snickard and his friends had to defeat the villain's minions and then the villain himself to take back the planet.

Snickard has amazing power, able to control objects floating through space. He can summon meteors to come crashing down on his foes and also produce one that he can ride.

Snickard is a bipedal creature that resembles an alligator. He has a long snout, big cartoon-like eyes, a purple body, green spikes, claws on his hands and feet, and a duck-like tail.

This is a very difficult decision for me! Charizard happens to be one of my all-time favorite Pokemon, but as a kid I wrote comics about Snickard. I guess I should go with Charizard so I'm not the odd one out, since everyone will probably vote for him. Beecanoe 21:58, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Nah, I'll go with Snickard. Charizard's a loser anyways. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 02:34, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

I'm going with Charizard, as he is a fully evolved Pokemon and is incredibly powerful. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:38, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

My vote goes to Jill because she's extremely good in combat, even more so than Blaziken. And her looks...not bad. Beecanoe 21:58, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Eeeeh.... I think it's a bit of a tie for me. Just let me put it this way: MvC2/Resident Evil 1 or 3 incarnation of Jill > Blaziken, Blaziken > MvC3/Resident Evil 5 incarnation of Jill. They could be evenly matched, if anything. ;) "I was frozen today!" 23:27, February 15, 2012 (UTC)Ouroburos.TheNewSaurian

BOM-Jk let's go with Jill. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 02:34, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

Are you guys crazy? Blaziken would totally win! Think about it... he is an incredibly physically-able Pokemon that is able to deliver a wide variety of rapid punches and kicks, all of which are upgraded with the power of scorching fire. His legs are so powerful that he can clear a 30 story building in one jump. If he managed to jump into Valentine, she would break in half! Not to mention the fact that he can shoot white-hot (that's really, really, reeeaaaalllly hot) flames from his wrists (both his wrists) which become more and more powerful the more formidable the foe is. It's no contest. I recommend that some of you guys change your minds...and why give her points for hotness? "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:46, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

I say Torterra because he's the best of the Sinnoh starters. Plus, he's one of the good Pokemon from that lackluster generation. Vector really doesn't have the fighting skill to take down a Pokemon of Torterra's size. Beecanoe 21:58, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

I always enjoyed choosing Turtwig in Pokemon Diamond... in order to evolve it into the tremendous Torterra! Therefore, he gets my vote. Vector, on the other hand, might have some decent combat ability (taking a note more from Sonic Heroes than Knuckles Chaotix), but as Beecanoe already noted, he doesn't have much of a chance. "I was frozen today!" 23:27, February 15, 2012 (UTC)Ouroburos.TheNewSaurian

Goooo Vector! Little fighting ability, but way cooler- actually, I'll go with Torterra. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 02:34, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

I agree with everyone at the table, and say Torterra, not only because of his powers and stats, but also judging from the extremely powerful Pokemon that he's on par with. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:51, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

Jared for numerous reasons. 1, how can I not vote for an Epic Saga character and a character based off a friend of mine from two wikis? 2, I hate Funky Kong. He sounds like a crazy retard. 3, Jared's beaten gods multiple times. Funky doesn't even LIKE to fight. Beecanoe 21:58, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

I have to go with the bold, honorable, and mighty Jared for this one. Funky Kong is better off with this mechanic skills than simply fighting... and as Beecanoe pointed out, he HATES to fight! Is that not self-explanatory? "I was frozen today!" 23:27, February 15, 2012 (UTC)Ouroburos.TheNewSaurian

I'd like to think Funky would take an honourable leave, but you haven't treated him that way before. I'm still going with Jared. I'm glad I'm not fighting him, at least not yet. Genius "Busier than I look" Guy #445 (talk) 02:34, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

I'm going home court and going with Jared of Sauria, because in his new state, he could cream Funky Kong. (BTW, where's my place in Epic Saga? I got skills). "I'll kill you with my sword!"Element Knight 375 04:54, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

Day 6: Round 1-Part 2 Winners

Charizard VS Snickard

The fight began with both fighters immediately trying to land a hit on each other. Charizard's Fire Blasts continued to collide with Snickard's meteor strikes. Charizard then decided to use Flare Blitz to charge attack Snickard while setting his body on fire. This protected him from the meteor strikes by burning them in the fires around Charizard's body. Charizard slams into Snickard with brute force, launching him back. Snickard then produces a meteor and holds it while jumping towards Charizard and hits him with it as if his head were a basketball hoop. Charizard gets angry and uses Inferno. Unfortunately, because the attack was so inaccurate, it misses Snickard, who goes up to Charizard and punches him the gut. Charizard uses Heat Wave on Snickard to deal some damage, and both are almost ready to pass out. Snickard charges Charizard with Comet Turbo, and Charizard flies up into the air to dodge, and Fire Blasts him from above. Charizard wins the match.

Blaziken VS Jill Valentine

Jill Valentine pulls out a pistol and begins to shoot at Blaziken, but the fire-type manages to use Double Team and avoid every shot fired. When Blaziken warps back after the last Double Team, Jill leaps into the air and sex kicks Blaziken clear in the face. Blaziken recovers quickly and utilizes a Sky Uppercut attack which sends Jill into the air. Blaziken follows up with a midair Blaze Kick attack. Jill violently crashes into the ground, but isn't ready to give up yet. Right when Blaziken lands on the ground, Jill puts a few bullets in his head with her pistol before he can even ready a counter after even the smallest impact. Blaziken is strong, but a bullet could stagger almost any fighter. Blaziken begins to feel woozy to the point of fainting, so he decides to use a Brave Bird attack so the recoil will make him faint, and he can do significant damage to Jill. Blaziken goes for it and it connects, and Jill has just a tiny ounce of energy left in her after the attack to consider it to not be a tie.

Vector the Crocodile VS Torterra

Vector is at first shocked by the massive appearance of Torterra, but knows he has to fight it to move on, so he charges straight at it. Torterra uses Leaf Storm to do damage to Vector and push him back. Vector gets up and Torterra runs right over to him and uses an Earthquake attack to knock him over. Torterra stands up on its hind legs and crashes straight down on Vector, crushing him into the ground. Torterra uses Frenzy Plant to pull Vector underground, causing the Pokemon to be the first to sweep a match.

Funky Kong VS Jared the Saurian

Funky Kong obviously didn't get the memo that this was a fighting tournament, otherwise he wouldn't be here. He thought this was more of a dancing tournament that he could enter to show everyone his skills. Too bad he at least didn't get an easy opponent. Funky Kong cowers in fear when Jared approaches him, and Jared punches Funky straight in the face (which is basically the equivalent of having a rock the size of your head being thrown at your face). Funky Kong completely blacks out from the attack and falls to the ground. Just to make sure Funky Kong isn't faking it, Jared throws him out of the ring and claims victory.

E.T.G., FTW! The kid has mad skills, and could easily finish Dr. Wily. Plus, he's part Sacred Diety, so that makes him sort of like a demigod. Beecanoe 17:26, February 24, 2012 (UTC)

I think I'll go with E.T.G., not only because of his power and skill, but also because he's my friend. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 03:58, February 25, 2012 (UTC)

Morris Jade VS Son Goku

There's also no info for Morris Jade, but you can look at the page he's from by going here.

Morris Jade is a 19-year-old young man who was killed during a World War II bombing in his home country, England. When he was killed, he didn't go to Heaven or Hell, he went to a place where people who die undesirably go to. The place was called the Valley of the Dead, a place where you have one sole opportunity to come back to life, by defeating the Valley's ruler, the Necromancer. Morris is given amazing powers of speed, strength, agility, and wit, that are above the capacity of a mortal human being. Using these newfound abilities, and weapons he finds along his journey, he slays multiple monsters on his way to The Necromancer's throne and defeats him as well against all odds. When Morris comes back to normal mortal life, his powers still linger for a while. To take advantage of it, Morris storms the airspace that held the planes that bombed his hometown. He encounters a military automaton and manages to destroy it with the Spider Bow, a very powerful weapon given to him as a parting gift by the spirit that helped him through the Valley of the Dead.

Now I know all you guys are gonna vote for Goku because he's a saiyan, and saiyans are very powerful, but Morris Jade takes my vote because he's powerful in his own sense, AND uses weapons skillfully. Also, this fight is assuming the fact the Morris is in his state when playing through the game. In his mortal form, he'd obviously lose. Beecanoe 17:26, February 24, 2012 (UTC)

I think I'll go with Morris Jade too, because war heroes are famous for being able to carry out magnificent feats (take John Carter of Mars, for example), and after his journey through the Underworld, Morris Jade must have accumulated so incredibly powerful weapons and resources. I vote Slime, because he's pretty awesome. I don't really have any other reason. Beecanoe 17:26, February 24, 2012 (UTC)

Well, this is kind of an iffish call, because I'm not exactly sure what physics would apply to the battle. But since Tifa's foundation for combat is boxing, then Slime might be able to dodge her, or the punches would have no effect because Slime's made of a gelatingous substance. As such, I think I'll go with Slime if that's the case. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:04, February 25, 2012 (UTC)

Sephiroth. Seriously, he could kill Heddo so brutally. Beecanoe 17:26, February 24, 2012 (UTC)

I really think I'll have to go with Sephiroth as well. This is much of a fair fight. By the way, Beec, I think it might be a cool idea, if you don't have anything much like it, to make it kind of like a Smash Bros.-style competition where the characters die by being sort of technologically deteriorated and teleported in living form into a sort of loser's circle. This way, none of the characters die. "I'll kill you with my sword!" Element Knight 375 04:09, February 25, 2012 (UTC)

Character Tournament Announcement 1

Since I've been busy a while lately, I decided to put the tourney on hold for a while, because, when I do get time to go on here, I'll want to edit pages besides this one. I can't tell you when the hiatus will end, though. This should give people some time to vote for this next round. (Two votes, one including mine, is pretty sad)
